HEARD in partnership with Kilos Estehanon, the Kilos Ko Youth Arm of Sen. Kiko Pangilinan in Eastern Samar and Brgy. Casuguran Sangguniang Kabataan had initiated an outreach program in Casuguran Elementary School and Casuguran Day Care Center thru provision of lunch packs for the pupils, as a Typhoon Tino response.

We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Fr. Kim Camora of St. John the Baptist Parish, Homonhon Island, for accommodating the volunteers in the food preparation at the parish convent.

To all the Nanay and youth volunteers, Thank you so much for sharing your time and cooking skills. Diyos Magbalos!

The recent passing of Typhoon Tino in Homonhon Island reminds us of how fragile our common home truly is. The strong winds and heavy rains did not only bring destruction but also a call, a call to conversion. As Laudato Si’ teaches, the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor are one. The devastation we witness is not just a natural event but also a mirror of how humanity has neglected its relationship with creation.

Pope Francis invites us to an ecological conversion, a change of heart that moves us from indifference to action, from exploitation to care. Typhoon Tino becomes more than a storm; it becomes a wake-up call to live responsibly, to protect our environment, and to rebuild our communities with compassion and sustainability.

Let this time be the moment when we choose change: to plant trees, to reduce waste, to live simply, and to remember that caring for creation is not just an option; it is an act of love for God, for others, and for future generations.
