New books have landed on our shelves! 🌟

Japanese children's books are joining the roster, thanks to the gracious donation of Yuko Fujimitsu-sensei! ✨ Titles include「へいわとせんそう」(Peace and War) by Tanikawa Shuntarou and Noritake, 「きんぎょがにげた」or "The Goldfish Got Away" by Taro Gomi and 「わたし」(Me) by Tanikawa Shuntarou and Shinta Chou.

Joining our collection of Hiligaynon books are "Isa ka Kuring nga Hari" and "Istoryahan Ta Ka Uli" by Professor Alice Tan Gonzales, with these two being short story collections filled with tales of adventure and wonder. ✨

Exactly a year ago from today, we opened our doors to help bring a variety of children's and young adult literature into the hands of our community and it's been a whirlwind of adventures since then ✨

Project Palabasa is appealing to your hearts this holiday season to help us fund our Reading Support Sessions for 2026. Your donations will greatly help our readers in maintaining their reading progress and literacy skills. Your generosity will help cover the expenses for our classes, including a warm meal for our students along with the production of materials that we use in our class.

You can avail any of the following donation tiers:

Php 100 - covers snacks and materials for 1 student
Php 200 - covers snacks and materials for 2 students
Php 500 - covers snacks and materials for 1 session
Php 1000 - covers snacks and materials for 2 sessions

Ending the year with a small celebration of gratitude and fun! 🎉🎄

A small Christmas party was held at the Project Palabasa library last December 19, 2025 together with our student patrons and their parents, culminating in an afternoon of fun activities, shared meals and a small gift-giving session.

We would like to thank our dear patrons and their parents for spending your time with us! Our heartfelt gratitude also to Vineyard for providing us snacks and for generously sponsoring the drinks for this activity (manamit gid!)

As we wrap up our 2025 operations, the team at Project Palabasa would like to wish everyone a happy and restful holiday season!

We will be returning full-time on January 5, 2026. See you!
