We assist these cooperatives in capacity building in governance and enterprise development, access to finance, farm inputs, agricultural machinery, technology, and markets including partnerships with government

The Sagip Saka Regional Caravan Series continued its nationwide engagement with another successful forum held on June 5, 2026 at Pagadian Bay Plaza Hotel in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, bringing together cooperative leaders, farmer-members, government agencies, development partners, and institutional stakeholders in support of strengthening agricultural partnerships and food procurement systems.

Led by AgriCOOPh in partnership with the Department of Agriculture – Sagip Saka National Project Management Office and the Cooperative Development Authority, in collaboration with the Office of Senator Kiko Pangilinan, COOP NATCCO Partylist, and with the support of DGRV, the Mindanao leg of the caravan was further strengthened through the support and collaboration of MASS-SPECC and the Model Cooperative Network (MCN), helping expand participation and regional cooperation across Mindanao.

The activity further strengthened awareness and understanding of the Sagip Saka Program while creating opportunities for deeper engagement in government and institutional food procurement initiatives that directly support farmers, fisherfolk, and agricultural cooperatives.

The forum was likewise honored by the participation of Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Region IX Regional Director Mark Louie C. Martin, whose presence reinforced the importance of stronger collaboration among government agencies, cooperatives, and institutional stakeholders in advancing more inclusive procurement systems and sustainable agricultural development.

The forum likewise highlighted the growing role of cooperatives, farmers’ organizations, government agencies, and institutional partners in strengthening local procurement systems, expanding market opportunities, and fostering stronger collaboration toward more inclusive and sustainable food systems.

🌍 World Environment Day 2026 | Lihok Na! Karon Na!

AgriCOOPh joins fellow advocates, civil society organizations, and development partners in celebrating World Environment Day 2026 at Heritage Park, Cebu Capitol Compound, Cebu City.

Guided by the call, “Panaghiusa Alang sa Katawhan ug Kinaiyahan, Lihok Na, Karon Na!”, the gathering highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing today’s environmental challenges through sustainable and community-driven solutions.

As an organization committed to empowering cooperatives and communities, AgriCOOPh supports initiatives that strengthen sustainable agriculture, expand opportunities for local farmers, promote capacity building, improve post-harvest systems, and encourage responsible environmental stewardship.

As part of the celebration, AgriCOOPh member-cooperatives actively participated in the Display-Demonstration-Presentation booths, showcasing cooperative-led initiatives and locally driven solutions for sustainable development. Participating member-cooperatives included Guadalupe Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GCMPC), First Consolidated Cooperative along Tañon Seaboards (FCCT), and Pestales Agriculture Cooperative. These presentations highlighted the important role cooperatives play in advancing sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, and community resilience.

Environmental action is a shared responsibility—and meaningful change begins when communities work together.

The Sagip Saka Regional Caravan Series continued its nationwide engagement with another successful forum held on June 3, 2026 at Grand City Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City, bringing together cooperative leaders, farmer-members, government agencies, development partners, and institutional stakeholders in support of strengthening agricultural partnerships and food procurement systems.

The Sagip Saka Regional Caravan Series continued its nationwide engagement with the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) on its 6th leg. It was one of the highly successful fora conducted on May 29, 2026 at the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office for the Cordillera Administrative Region (DA-RFO-CAR) Conference Hall, located within the DA Compound, Guisad, Baguio City.

Bringing together one of the strongest and most diverse gatherings seen in the caravan series thus far, the forum gathered cooperative leaders, farmer-members, government agencies, development partners, and institutional stakeholders in support of strengthening agricultural partnerships and food procurement systems.

Led by AgriCOOPh in partnership with the Department of Agriculture – Sagip Saka National Project Management Office and the Cooperative Development Authority, in collaboration with the Office of Senator Kiko Pangilinan, COOP NATCCO Partylist, and with the support of DGRV, the activity further expanded awareness and understanding of the Sagip Saka Program and created opportunities for deeper engagement with government and institutional food procurement initiatives.

Participating government agencies included the Department of Agriculture (DA), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Department of Health (DOH) through the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), reflecting the growing multi-sectoral support for strengthening local procurement systems and market opportunities for farmers and fisherfolk.

The forum was further honored by the presence of Assistant Secretary Luz Yringco of the Finance and Agricultural Cluster, whose participation reinforced the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing inclusive agricultural development.

AgriCOOPh likewise expresses its sincere appreciation to our partners, co-sponsors, and the sixteen (16) participating agricultural cooperatives—many from Benguet and Ifugao—whose active participation, support, and commitment contributed greatly to the success of the activity.

Highlights of the forum included:

• Increased awareness and understanding of the Sagip Saka Law and the opportunities it creates for farmers and fisherfolk;

• Sharing of supply opportunities arising from the procurement requirements of various agencies, alongside discussions on challenges related to supply consistency and documentary requirements;

• Discussions on concerns raised by farmers’ cooperatives and associations regarding payment periods from agencies and capital requirements needed to sustain supply operations; and

• Recognition of the need for greater familiarization and understanding among agencies regarding the implementation of the law.

Six (6) agricultural cooperatives in North Cebu received a welcome boost toward recovery and resilience through the Rehabilitation Program for Earthquake and Typhoon Victims, made possible through the partnership of Caritas Manila, AgriCOOPh Federation through the Cooperative Development Fund (CDF), and its member-primary cooperatives.

The program aims to help restore cooperative enterprises, provide livelihood support to selected members, and strengthen economic recovery efforts through sustainable rehabilitation initiatives.

The beneficiary cooperatives include:

• Amihan Livestock Growers Agriculture Cooperative
• City of Bogo Farmers Agriculture Cooperative
• Cayang MPC
• Canhabagat ARB MPC
• Medellin Fisherfolk Marketing Cooperative
• Don Virgilio Gonzales ARB MPC

Following scoping and profiling activities, sustainability roadmaps were developed focusing on enterprise and livelihood interventions such as:

✅ Swine Fattening
✅ Bangus Floating Cage Production
✅ Seaweeds Production
✅ Rice Trading
✅ HP Printer Support
✅ Point of Sale (POS) Systems

Through strengthened partnerships and cooperative action, this initiative seeks to empower communities to rebuild stronger, restore livelihoods, and create sustainable opportunities for growth.

Strengthening cooperative institutions through partnership and shared growth. 🤝🌱

The AgriCOOPh Federation Treasury and Credit Unit successfully conducted a two-day Integrated Credit Assessment and Business Operations Review with Dalawinon Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (DFMPC) last May 28–29, 2026, as part of the Federation’s continuing support, partnership, and advocacy to strengthen the institutional capacity and operational sustainability of its valued member-primary cooperatives.

DFMPC continues to demonstrate excellence and growth as one of our multi-awarded and recognized member cooperatives, with notable recent milestones including:

✅ DFMPC Negotiated Procurement - Sagip Saka (NP-SS) Awardee
✅ Recipient of Purchase Order No. 0657-AM-26 (Amended), dated May 21, 2026, amounting to Php 70,189,200 for the supply of 116,982 bags of well-milled rice for the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO)
✅ Iron-Fortified Rice (IFR) machine installation and operations nearing full operationalization

Through initiatives such as these, AgriCOOPh remains committed to empowering cooperatives, strengthening institutional systems, and supporting member organizations toward sustainable growth and long-term success.
