PNP REPORTS 387 FUEL STATIONS CLOSED; 17 CASES FILED VS. VIOLATORS
The Philippine National Police (PNP), in close coordination with the Department of Energy (DOE), is actively monitoring the fuel supply situation from March 1 to April 9, 6:00 a.m., to ensure public access and prevent unlawful practices.
During this period, 387 of the country’s 14,519 gas stations were temporarily closed due to non-delivery of petroleum products. In coordination with the DOE, the PNP continues to monitor and act against illegal activities, including hoarding, profiteering, oil pilferage, estafa, theft, and violations of PD 1865, resulting in a total of 17 cases and 42 arrests.
“Kasama ang DOE, tuloy-tuloy ang ating monitoring sa fuel situation at ang pagsasampa ng kaso laban sa mga lumalabag sa batas. We remain committed to protecting the public at tiyakin ang patas na kalakalan,” said Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, PNP.
One of the significant enforcement actions during this period occurred on April 8, 2026, in San Pablo City, Laguna, where several individuals involved in oil pilferage and related illegal activities were arrested, and petroleum products and equipment worth over Php 3.5 million were confiscated.
These efforts are aligned with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, ensuring that law enforcement remains responsive to emerging public concerns while maintaining vigilance.
The PNP urges the public to report any illegal or unethical practices related to fuel supply and pricing to the nearest police station, call Unified 911, or use official PNP hotlines. Violators will be dealt with firmly in accordance with existing laws.
“We encourage everyone to remain vigilant at agad i-report ang anumang kahina-hinalang aktibidad,” he added.
This initiative supports the vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
