What began as a simple desire to tell stories that matter has led Ebnoh Sujod L. Gani to represent the Philippines on an international stage.
A former Torch writer, youth advocate, and environmentalist, Gani recently earned the title of 1st Runner-Up and received the Media Choice International Award at the Mr. World Ambassador International 2026 held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. His achievement reflects not only personal triumph but also the power of purpose-driven leadership.
Gani shared that his journey as a Torch writer shaped his character and strengthened his voice. โWriting gave me a voice when I was still finding my confidence, and it taught me how powerful words can be in shaping perspectives and inspiring change. Through Torch, I learned discipline, empathy, and responsibility because every story I wrote carried the truth and voices of others,โ he said.
Meanwhile, his decision to join Mr. World Ambassador International 2026 was inspired by the platformโs advocacy for leadership, culture, and global unity. โMr. World Ambassador International is more than a competitionโitโs a movement that celebrates purpose-driven individuals,โ Gani explained. He added that representing the Philippines meant carrying not only confidence but also substance and a meaningful message: that Filipino voices deserve to be heard on the global stage.
Preparing for the competition was no easy task. Gani described the most challenging part as balancing mental, emotional, and physical preparation. โIt wasnโt just about looking ready; it was about being ready. There were moments of self-doubt and exhaustion, but those moments pushed me to grow stronger, more disciplined, and more self-aware,โ he shared. Standing in Vietnam as the countryโs representative, Gani felt both pride and gratitude. He recalled thinking of the people back home who believed in him and the responsibility of carrying the Philippine flag with honor. For him, the experience was overwhelming in the best way, knowing he was not only representing himself but also the nationโs culture and identity.
Among all the competition segments, interviews and closed-door questioning proved to be the most difficult. These required authenticity and sincerity rather than rehearsed answers. Gani said his background as a writer helped him organize his thoughts, choose his words carefully, and express ideas with clarity and depth under pressure.
When he was announced as 1st Runner-Up and Media Voice Awardee, Gani felt humbled and deeply thankful. While the runner-up title was already a great honor, the Media Voice Award held special meaning for him as a writer. It symbolized a full-circle moment, where his passion for communication met international recognition.
For Gani, the achievement represents years of preparation, faith, and choosing courage over fear. It stands as proof that he is capable of more than he once imagined. He now hopes to inspire young people who dream of representing the Philippines on the international stage. โNever underestimate the power of your story,โ he shared. He emphasized that perfection is not requiredโonly purpose. Every voice, culture, and dream is worthy of being seen and heard on the world stage.
Describing his journey in one word, Gani chose โtransformative.โ โBecause every stepโfrom writing to competing, changed the way I see myself, my potential, and my role in serving others,โ he said. His advice to students whos afraid to chase big opportunities is simple yet powerful fear is natural, but regret lasts longer. Growth happens outside the comfort zone, and sometimes readiness is found along the way.
From telling stories through words to embodying them through action, Ebnoh Ganiโs journey proves that leadership begins with a voice, and that voice, when guided by purpose, can reach the world.
