Silliman University invites the community to join in celebrating the life and legacy of Beatriz โBetsyโ A. Jackson, Outstanding Sillimanian Awardee in Nursing Leadership (2011), at a memorial service on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Silliman University Church.
A proud alumna of the Silliman University College of Nursing, Class of 1977, Betsy devoted more than three decades to nursing leadership, education, mentorship, and professional practice in Canada. Her commitment to her alma mater remained steadfast throughout her life, expressed through her leadership in Silliman alumni organizations and her generous support for initiatives that strengthened nursing education and patient care.
Among her lasting contributions was her support for Silliman University and the Silliman University Medical Center in their journey toward the Best Practice Spotlight Organizationยฎ (BPSO) program. Her generosity and encouragement contributed to the historic recognition of Silliman University Medical Center as the first Best Practice Spotlight Organizationยฎ in the Philippines, together with the designation of the Silliman University College of Nursing as a BPSO Academe.
The memorial service will also be streamed live on the official page of the Silliman University Church.
The Silliman community remembers Betsy with gratitude for a life of service, generosity, and dedication to nursing excellence, and for a legacy that continues to inspire Sillimanians and healthcare professionals.
