Coincidence ba… o sign from heaven?

Anak, maybe you were being used by God even then. Your voice warned of things now unfolding, and years later the same UNTV became part of our journey. Hindi ito basta coincidence sa puso ko this feels like God letting me see your purpose more clearly.

Then I checked the time… 1:43 — I love you.
And I realized so many of these events happened in March.

Anak… nagpaparamdam ka ba?
Parang hindi lang ito coincidence. Parang may mensahe kang gustong ipaabot kay Mama. 🤍

Parang sinasabi mo kay Mama…
“Ma, hindi ito coincidence… I love you… nandito lang ako.” 🕊️😭

We, the Infectious Disease fellows of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center, would like to extend our deepest condolences to your family.

It was our privilege to have cared for Cody. To us, he was more than a patient—he was someone we came to know and remember with great fondness.

We all knew him simply as Cody-calm, gentle, and always smiling. There was a quiet presence about him that stayed with us. Despite everything he was going through, he would still greet us with a smile.

At such a young age, Cody showed a kind of strength that is difficult to put into words. It was not loud or demanding, but steady and full of grace. Even in moments of pain, he would softly say, “Okay lang ako.” In those simple words, he was not just reassuring himself—he was reassuring all of us.

Through Cody, we were reminded that courage does not always come in grand gestures. Sometimes, it is found in quiet resilience, in kindness despite hardship, and in the strength to keep smiling even when it is difficult.

Cody left a lasting impression on all of us. He taught us lessons that go beyond medicine—lessons of compassion, humility, and quiet bravery. He will always be remembered not only for what he endured, but for how he carried himself through it all.

We hope it brings you comfort to know that he was deeply cared for and will be remembered with warmth by everyone who had the chance to meet him.

Maraming salamat, Cody. Hinding-hindi ka namin malilimutan.

We remember and honor Cody’s life that touched our lives in quiet and meaningful ways.
What i remember about cody was his strength in the face of uncertainty, his courage during his hardest days, and the way he continued to care for others even while being on this battle. Cody showed us what resilience looks like—not as something loud or dramatic, but as something steady, patient, and deeply human.
Through every challenge, he remained a source of warmth, kindness, and love. Whether in shared laughter, simple conversations during rounds or moments of comfort.

Though we mourn his passing, we also give thanks—for his life, for his strength, and for the time we were given with him. May we carry forward the lessons he showed us: to be kinder, to be braver, and to hold one another a little closer.
Rest peacefully. You will always be remembered Cody, and you will always be missed.

Celebrating Cody

Cody’s earthly journey felt far too short, but his life was lived with a depth and grace that many of us spend decades trying to achieve.

Cody was the definition of courage. He was the bravest person I have ever known. His bravery wasn’t loud or boastful; it was a quiet, steady strength rooted in a sincere and deep faith in God. In the face of unimaginable pain from a long standing illness, he never once asked "Why?" He simply endured, moving through his journey with a dignity that left those of us around him in absolute awe.

Cody showed wisdom that felt far beyond his years—the kind of insight that doesn’t come from books or age, but from a divine source. It was a gift from God, and he shared that light with everyone he met.
To have known him was a blessing; to have been loved by him was a grace and a gift like no other. He held a special place in my heart, not just as a patient, but like a real son.

He changed the way I view life. When most would have given up, he showed unbelievable strength. When he was the one who deserved all the care and attention, he remained selfless, constantly thinking of others. Even in moments of great discomfort, he remained resilient. I will forever be moved by the memory of his sincerest smile—a smile he gave freely every single time I visited, no matter what he was enduring.

This is not goodbye, we are but travelers on this earth. Our time here is a journey, and though he has reached his destination ahead of us, the special memories he left behind are marked by faith, love, and an unbreakable spirit.

Cody, your journey was hard, but you finished it beautifully. Rest in Jesus and pray for us that we find comfort in knowing that you are now in transcendent peace.

My dearest anak… not a day goes by that I don’t think of you, don’t miss you, don’t wish I could hold you one more time. There are so many moments in my day where I still look for you, still wait for you, still hope somehow you’ll walk back into our lives. The silence you left behind is something I carry in every breath.
Thank you, Simply JEAN , for this beautiful song—for putting into words the love and pain we struggle to express. This song became our voice… the voice of a family who loves deeply and misses endlessly.
Anak, we couldn’t bring anything with you when you left this world. No material thing could ever matter. The only thing we could give you, the only thing we could send with you, is our love—pure, unconditional, and eternal. It is the same love that held you when you were here, and the same love that now carries you in heaven.
We miss your smile, your voice, your presence… everything about you. Life will never be the same without you, but we will continue to love you in every sunrise, in every prayer, in every tear that falls.
Until the day we meet again, my son… please remember that you are loved beyond measure, missed beyond words, and held in our hearts forever.

Pero ngayon… ngayong sandaling ito… they are just two boys having a good time together.

At doon nagsisimula ang kakaibang connection nila — hindi lang bilang friends, but as brothers in battle.

They find joy in each other.
They give strength to each other.
They heal a little through each other.

And I realized something today:
Minsan, hindi gamot ang nagpapagaan sa araw… minsan, isa pang batang may parehong laban.
Someone who understands without words.
Someone who laughs with you despite the pain.
Someone who knows your battle because he’s fighting it too.

Two warriors.
Same sickness.
Same chemo.
Same fight.
But together… they shine brighter, they laugh louder, they hope stronger.

“Two are better than one… for if one falls, the other can help him up.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

DAY 1- 12th Cycle of Chemotherapy

One year since the diagnosis…
and we are still standing because God carried us.

One year of hospital rooms, chemo bags, needles, transfusions, fear, and sleepless nights…
But also one year of miracles, strength, laughter, small victories, and unending love. 💛

A year of learning that God never leaves our side.

Lord, thank You for carrying us through the darkest days.
Thank You for giving our son the courage of a warrior and the heart of a fighter.
Thank You, Lord, for every doctor, every medicine, every stranger who prayed for our son.

As we enter another year of battling this illness, we pray for Your healing hands to touch him completely.
Please, Lord… restore his health, protect his spirit, and guide every treatment, every doctor, every moment. 🙏✨
We are tired, but we are not giving up.
Because You are with us.
Because our son is strong.
Because hope is still alive.

One year down… claiming a year of healing ahead.
Lord, please heal our son. 🙏💛

Thank You po Lord sa bagong meds! 🙏💛

Pero laban pa rin, kasi this is the ultimate, life-saving, ultra-rare, OP medicine na gamot ni K.Cody! 📦✨

Lord… please po let this be the ONE… the life-saving, wallet-breaking, ultra-rare miracle pill!” 🙏

Another ER trip… and today, the sadness in his eyes says it all. His CBC showed low hemoglobin, very low platelets, and low WBC again — and the blasts are rising. His little body is exhausted, and we can feel how heavy this fight has become for him. As parents, it breaks our hearts to see him this tired and this quiet.
But even in his sadness, he still chooses to fight. His courage is something only God can give.

Lord, please comfort his heart, strengthen his body, and heal him little by little. 🙏✨

Thank you po Doc Ces, Doc Mae ,and Doc Ponce for extending your effort, and care for Cody.

With God all things are possible.” — Matthew 19:26
