The world celebrates Dante on March 25, and we're starting a day early. Dantedì honors the life and works of Dante Alighieri, il Sommo Poeta, whose Divine Comedy helped shape the Italian language itself. Societa Dante Alighieri Manila, in partnership with the Italian Embassy of Manila and the Department of European Languages, invites you to two lectures on March 24, 2:30-4:00pm at PAV 1119 College of Arts and Letters:

𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻 — 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻, 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻 ✍️🪞⛓️

Last February 24, we dove deep into the power of words and the weight of silence. In our recent ACLE, 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻 — 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻, 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻: “𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻” 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀, 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆, we explored how literature also acts as a mirror of struggle and a tool for defiance.

Led by Marlon James Sales, the discussion bridged the gap between the histories of France, Italy, Germany, and Spain with our own Philippine context. We learned that translation is about voicing the struggles of the marginalized and dismantling the systems that hold them back.

To everyone who joined us at PAV 1119, grazie mille for engaging in this dialogue. May we continue to use language not just to speak, but to resist.

SIGWA: ACLE Cultural Night

Sama-sama nating salubungin ang pagtatapos ng unang araw ng Alternative Classroom Learning Experience (ACLE) sa isang gabi ng mga kultural na pagtatanghal. Inaanyayahan ang lahat sa SIGWA: ACLE Cultural Night!

Sa ating nagkakaisang tinig, patuloy nating ipatambol ang mga panawagan kasabay ng himig ng paglaya mula sa bulok na sistemang umiiral. Tampok ang mga awit, tula, at iba pang anyo ng kulturang magpapalakas sa sigaw ng paniningil laban sa korapsyon at kawalang-pananagutan.

Bilang mga Iskolar ng Bayan, tungkulin nating manindigan at igiit na ang pagkatuto ay hindi nakakulong sa apat na sulok ng silid-aralan, kundi nakaugat sa pakikibaka ng mamamayan.

Patuloy na kumilos! Buhayin ang sigwa ng paglaban!

Our hearts are completely full!

Day 2 of Letters to Juliet was an absolute whirlwind of love and laughter. We are officially sold out of our blooms, thanks to all of you who made the trip to the CAL Atrium today.
