The Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC) – New Bataan Branch actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 12, 2026 (Thursday) at 3:30 PM, demonstrating the institution's strong commitment to disaster preparedness and safety awareness.
Students, faculty, and staff, with a total of 184 participants comprising 84 boys and 100 girls, took part in the simulation by practicing the proper “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure during the earthquake response phase, followed by an organized evacuation to designated areas. Instructors and Classroom Mayors conducted immediate headcounts to ensure that all students were properly accounted for.
The drill was led by DRRMU Head and Incident Commander Jerwen B. Petes, with the First Aid and Safety Support Team (FASST) assisting in medical procedures and safety actions, demonstrating their collective efforts to ensure a safer community.
This activity highlights the importance of community preparedness, coordination, and collective response in times of emergencies. Through initiatives like this, DDOSC–New Bataan Branch continues to strengthen its culture of safety and disaster readiness.
