𝗗𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗢 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 — 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗛), an organization of law students from 𝗥𝗠𝗖 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝘄, visited the Davao City Jail - Annex on March 22, 2026, to deliver lectures and a post-Ramadan gathering for Muslim Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) inside the facility's Musalla.

With the permission of the jail administration, the organization conducted an Islamic reflection led by a sheikh, shared a light meal, and distributed hygiene kits to the Muslim PDLs. The activity, held within the jail's prayer space, aimed to extend spiritual solidarity and moral support to those who spent the holy month of Ramadan behind bars.

Dubbed by the organizers as "𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗵 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝘀," the initiative sought to remind the Muslim PDLs that divine blessings are not confined to free spaces, even behind bars, barakah can find them, especially inside the Musalla where their faith lives on.

‎عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: "أوصاني خليلي صلى الله عليه وسلم بثلاث: صيام ثلاثة أيام من كل شهر، وركعتي الضحى، وأن أوتر قبل أن أنام" متفق عليه.

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

My beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), advised me to do three things: to fast three days every month, to pray the two raka‘ahs of Duha (forenoon prayer), and to offer Witr prayer before going to sleep." Narration: Agreed upon (i.e., narrated by both al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Translation in Tagalog:
Ayon sa ulat ni Abu Huraira (nawa’y kalugdan siya ng Allah) na nagsabi:

"Pinayuhan ako ng Aking Minamahal na Propeta (S.A.W.) na gawin ang tatlong bagay: mag-ayuno ng tatlong araw bawat buwan, magsagawa ng dalawang rak‘ah na Salaatu Duha (panalangin sa umaga), at magsagawa ng Wit’r bago matulog."

Napagkasunduan ang pagkakasalaysay: Muttafaqun ‘alayh (isinalaysay nina al-Bukhari at Muslim).

‎عن أبي ذرّ رضي الله عنه قال: "أمَرنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أن نصوم من الشهر
‎ثلاثة أيام البيض: ثلاث عشرة وأربع عشرة وخمس عشرة". [رواه النسائي في السّنن (2422)، وحسّنه الألباني].

Translation in English :
On the authority of Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

"The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to fast three days of every month, the ‘Ayyām al-Bīḍ (the white days): the 13th, 14th, and 15th. "Reported by An-Nasā’ī in As-Sunan (2422), and Al-Albānī graded it as hadith ḥasan.

Translation in Tagalog:

Ayon sa ulat ni Abu Dharr (nawa’y kalugdan siya ng Allah) na nagsabi:

"Iniutos sa amin ng Sugo ng Allah (sumakanya nawa ang kapayapaan at pagpapala) na mag-ayuno ng tatlong araw sa bawat buwan, ang tinatawag na Ayyam al-Bid (ang mga puting araw): ika-13, ika-14, at ika-15." Isinasalaysay ni An-Nasā’ī sa As-Sunan (2422), at hinatulan ito ni Al-Albānī bilang hadith Hasan.

We are a non-partisan, non-profit, and service-oriented organization composed of law students dedicated to the promotion and protection of Muslim Filipino rights through legal advocacy, education, and community engagement.

Bangsamoro M***i, Sheikh Abdulrauf Guialani, announced that the crescent moon was not visible during the moon sighting led by the Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta’ (BDI). Consequently, Muslims in the Philippines will fast for one more day to complete the 30 days of Ramadhan and will celebrate Eid’l Fit’r on March 21, 2026.

May Allah SWT accept all our ibadah (worship) during this holy month. Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum. The Bangsamoro Government extends an advanced Eid Mubarak to the entire Muslim Ummah. May the spirit of Ramadhan remind us to carry kindness, gratitude, and generosity throughout the year.
