From Learning to Doing—Day 3 delivered.

Through press conference and council hearing simulations, participants put their knowledge, skills, and unified narratives into action—demonstrating confidence, clarity, and commitment to watershed protection.

We concluded the training by moving from theory to practical application, ensuring that learning translated into real advocacy action. Today, they step forward not just as trainees, but as PESO Champions ready to advocate beyond the training room. 💧🌿

🌿 PES Advocacy at the Watershed Summit🌿

Last November 27, APILA had the opportunity to present the Payment for Ecosystem Services Ordinance (PESO) as an innovative and sustainable approach to protecting our watersheds during the Annual Watershed Stakeholders' Summit.

We are grateful for the strong affirmations and support expressed by stakeholders who recognize that funding for ecosystem services is both necessary and long overdue. 💧 💚

APILA remains hopeful that through continuous community engagement across Davao, more will embrace and champion the very essence of PES—protecting our watersheds by valuing the services they provide. Count how many participants we have on the following activities 🍃✨

🌿PESO Advocacy Update🌿

Last November 19, APILA, together with Interfacing Development Interventions for Sustainability (IDIS), lobbied before the offices of Councilor Tek Ocampo and Councilor Diosdado Mahipus to initially discuss the proposed Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) Ordinance. As Chair and Vice Chair of the Committee on Environment, their insights and support are vital to pushing this forward.

The previous session may have concluded, but our hope remains strong.

We continue to work toward having the PESO refiled this year — for a greener, more sustainable Davao City.🌱

🌿 Awareness Campaign on PES | Brgy. 26-A Bucana🌊💚

On November 5, 2025, our journey continued — this time at Brgy. 76-A Bucana, where our Awareness Campaign on Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) made waves! 🌾✨
Participants eagerly took part in the discussions and activities, sharing their thoughts and gaining new insights on how caring for our environment uplifts both nature and community. 💬🌱

Their enthusiasm proves that protecting our ecosystems truly starts at the grassroots. 🙌

Each session brings us closer to a future where every community knows the power of PES. 💧🌍
One barangay at a time — one step closer to a greener tomorrow. 🌿💪
