MAKING New Dreamers Inc. (MND) successfully hosted its “Dream Big, Shine Bright Recital 2026” on July 4 at the Holy Cross of Davao College Theater, marking a milestone in its ongoing mission to empower local youth through the arts.

Dream Big, Shine Bright: Behind the Curtain — Part 3 ✨

Before the lights turned on and the curtains opened, there was a beautiful moment happening behind the scenes.

The children’s recital day began with excitement, laughter, and a little bit of magic as our dreamers prepared for their special performance. For many of them, this was their first time experiencing what it feels like to be on a real stage, and we wanted them to feel celebrated, confident, and special.

With the help of our amazing professional hair and makeup artists, our dreamers were glammed up and transformed into the stars they were always meant to be. 💄✨ They proudly wore their costumes from Roldance Costume, bringing their performances to life.

Beyond the makeup, costumes, and preparations, what truly made this moment special were the smiles, the nervous excitement, and the joy in their eyes as the recital program drew nearer.

This recital was never just about the performance. It was about giving children an experience that reminds them that they are worthy of being celebrated, supported, and given the chance to dream big. 💙

Some gifts don't end when the event is over.

As part of our Dream Big project, we also held a donation drive for the children of Padre Pio's Home for Children, in partnership with Luxmed Aesthetics and Wellness Clinic. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, the Home received essential supplies that will continue to serve and care for the children in the days and months ahead.

Every bottle, every school supply, every toiletry, every piece of clothing, and every item donated is a quiet reminder that there are people who care.

To everyone who answered our call and shared what they could, thank you. Your generosity extended far beyond the recital—it became a lasting expression of love and compassion for the children who call Padre Pio's Home their home.

Together, we didn't just create a beautiful day.

We helped provide for brighter tomorrows.

A recital was only one part of the celebration.

Before the curtains rose and the performances began, we wanted our Dreamers to simply enjoy being kids.

They shared a special Jollibee lunch (complete with a surprise visit from Jollibee himself!), filled their pockets with photo booth strips after taking unlimited photos with their friends, dipped marshmallows and treats into a chocolate fountain at our pica-pica station, and went back for scoop after scoop of ice cream with the biggest smiles on their faces.

For many of us, these little things are ordinary.

But for some of our Dreamers, they were firsts. Moments they had never experienced before. Memories they now get to keep forever.

Because Dream Big, Shine Bright! was never just about putting on a recital.

It was about giving every child a day where they felt celebrated, cherished, and reminded that they deserve joy—not someday, but today.

And seeing their smiles was the greatest reward of all. 💛

Part 1: The Journey Begins. 🚌✨

Every big dream begins with a journey.

Before the lights, the applause, and the performances, there was a bus ride filled with laughter, excitement, and endless chatter.

For some of our Dreamers from Padre Pio's Home for Children, it was their very first time riding a bus. What could have been an ordinary trip quickly became an adventure. They looked out the windows with wonder, laughed with their friends, and counted down the minutes until they could finally step onto the stage they had been preparing for over the past five Saturdays.

To them, it felt like a field trip.

To us, it was a beautiful reminder that sometimes, joy is found in the simplest moments.

Our heartfelt gratitude to the City Government of Davao, through the Office of the City Mayor, especially to Atty. Jonah Margarette Fuentes Presto, for providing transportation and helping make this day possible. Because of your support, our Dreamers arrived not only safely, but with hearts already full of excitement for the day ahead.

And this was only the beginning. 💙✨

For five Saturdays, children from Padre Pio's Home for Children learned, created, laughed, discovered, and believed in themselves a little more.

Yesterday, they took the stage—not to be perfect, but to celebrate how far they had come.

This is more than a highlights video. It is a glimpse of courage being built, talents being discovered, and dreams beginning to take shape.

Five Saturdays. Countless lessons. Endless courage.

Yesterday, our dreamers from Padre Pio's Home for Children took the stage for the Dream Big, Shine Bright! Recital—the joyful culmination of five weeks of learning, creativity, and growth.

It was a show FOR the children and BY the children. They welcomed our guests as hosts, filled the theater with music through their performances, danced with confidence, shared what they had learned from our reading and storytelling sessions, and proudly showcased their artworks in our exhibit. Every moment reflected not only what they had learned, but who they were becoming.

More than a recital, this was a celebration of possibility.

Over the past five weeks, these children discovered new interests, built confidence in their own abilities, and found the courage to dream beyond what they once thought possible. Yesterday was a reminder that when children are given opportunities, encouragement, and people who believe in them, they begin to see a future filled with hope.

And of course, it was a day simply meant to be enjoyed. For some of our children, it was their first time riding a bus. They met Jollibee, enjoyed overflowing snacks at the pica-pica station and ice cream, laughed together at the photobooth, and created memories we hope they will carry with them for years to come.

After five Saturdays of learning, creating, and growing together, our children from Padre Pio's Home for Children are ready to share what they've been working on—not just through songs, dances, artwork, and hosting, but through the confidence they've built along the way.

This recital is more than a showcase of talents.

Five Saturdays.

Five weeks of learning, creating, discovering, and dreaming.

Last Saturday marks the final session of the Dream Big Workshops—a journey that brought together children, volunteers, and professionals with one shared purpose: to remind every child that they are capable of more than they can imagine.

Over the past five weeks, we witnessed curiosity turn into confidence, talents begin to blossom, and new dreams take root. From visual arts, music, dance, and hosting to reading, life skills, and inspiring sessions with professionals from different fields, every workshop became an opportunity to explore new possibilities.

While today concludes our workshops, it is only the beginning of the stories these children will continue to write.
