🚨 𝗕𝗘 𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗞𝗘-𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬!🚨
𝗗UCK or DROP. 𝗖OVER. 𝗛OLD.

Knowing this strategy during an earthquake can save lives and the best way to survive an earthquake. Remember the vital steps: DUCK, COVER, and HOLD!

The 𝗗𝗖𝗛 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is the recommended earthquake safety procedure of DOST-PHIVOLCS for the Philippines.

1. DUCK!
Drop to the ground immediately. Get low to avoid being thrown down by the shaking.

2. COVER!
Get under a sturdy desk or table to protect your head and neck from falling objects. If there's no shelter nearby, drop to the ground next to an interior wall and cover your head and neck with your arms.

3. HOLD!
Stay put until the shaking stops. If you're under a table, hold onto one of its legs so it doesn't move away from you.

Davao City Earthquake Update
As of 3:30 PM, October 10, 2025

As of 3:30 PM today, unfortunately, there is one (1) confirmed fatality related to the earthquake incident in Davao City. The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) has already reached out to the victim’s family to provide the necessary assistance.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO)-Central 911 have swiftly responded to a total of 347 individuals who experienced fainting or sustained minor injuries. All patients have received proper medical attention and are now in stable condition.

Following the issuance of a Red Alert Status by the Office of Civil Defense for the Davao Region, the Davao City DRRMO has likewise raised its alert status to Red Alert. All emergency assets are currently prepositioned in preparation for possible aftershocks.

There is no active tsunami warning for Davao City.

The City Engineer’s Office, in coordination with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), has completed structural assessments of Bankerohan Bridge, Bolton Bridge, Davao River Bridge, and San Rafael Bridge. No major structural damage was found. All four bridges are declared safe for vehicular traffic.

We urge the public to remain calm and vigilant. Please continue to monitor official channels for accurate and timely updates regarding the situation and potential aftershocks.
