Why we are here!

Our mission is to improve standards of living for mountain villages in the Philippines by enhancing skills of the community to make them self-sustainable.

How does Gakus work? We enhance skills by establishing local supply chains, working with local ambassadors, partnering with international charitable relief organizations and generating fundraising sub projects.

The goal is to create a self-sustainable environment that improves and sustains

accessibility to healthcare,

education for kids and parents,

fair jobs, entrepreneurship and new businesses

livelihood

independently, within the community.

The mountain village of Tambubong is our starting point. Once the project is established successfully, the goal is to make the Tambubong concept adaptable worldwide to improve their living standards through community self-sustainability in the long run.

About us: We are Harlene and Vanessa - two friends from the Philippines and Germany, who met in London during our Masters and became friends for life. Harlene is an entrepreneur and local ambassador. Coming from a poor family in a rural areas she worked hard and runs four businesses in Davao herself. Vanessa is a hands-on optimist with a professional background in a digital and design agency. Our different backgrounds and passion is what drives and enables us to change business and societies for the better.

Together with our international network of friends from all over the globe, we belive we can make an impact and help the poor to become self-sustainable. Everyone is welcome to join our movement.
