Congratulations again to the UKELYMPICS 2025 winners! 👏👏👏
The vibrant sounds of ukuleles lit up Bantawan at the Old Airport, Tagbilaran City, as the Bohol Ukulele Festival kicked off on July 12—part of the Sandugo sa Bohol 2025 celebration.
Organized by the Provincial Government of Bohol through CCAD, in partnership with the Ukulele Society Bohol, BACH, and BIDEF, the festival highlights local talent, cultural pride, and musical collaboration in the country’s first UNESCO Global Geopark.
A key highlight was the 1st Ukelympics, where youth and adult performers competed in solo and group categories.
In the Solo Vocal – Instrumental Performance (Youth Division), Samantha Mari Orillaneda won 1st place, followed by Marcque Elle M. Fronteras in 2nd place, and Jhanrell Rex Olaivar in 3rd place.
For the Solo Vocal – Instrumental Performance (Open Division), Itopian Dream performed by Christopher Paul Alcantara secured 1st place. Francine Noelle Roferos placed 2nd, while Priscilla Bastasa came in 3rd.
In the Solo Fingerstyle Instrumental Performance (Open Division), Joshua Wong emerged as the 1st place winner. KZ (Keziah Brianne Jamora) took 2nd place, and Cyrus Baldoz placed 3rd.
For the Group Instrumental Performance (Open Division), Bilar Tuba claimed 1st place, SIES Little Strummers won 2nd place, and UB-LI (University of Bohol – Loon Institute) took 3rd place.
The event also featured performances from guest artists and continues July 13 with a ukulele workshop at the New Provincial Capitol.
The Bohol Ukulele Festival is part of the province’s ongoing efforts to promote cultural tourism, empower local artists, and strengthen community identity through music and the arts.
