Tides of Change

Tides of Change Tides of Change advocates for a safe and clean environment for life below water, under the SDG 14. Together, let's dive in and make a change!

Your involvement for a better marine life matters more than ever.

As of now, almost all of the plastic that is used in packaging products are ๐™จ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ๐™ก๐™š-๐™ช๐™จ๐™š. Although durable and lightweight, they can only be used once, and then thrown away. They are everywhere, from water bottles, to food containers, and chip bags. Other plastic products that are not necessarily used in packaging can also be ๐™จ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ๐™ก๐™š-๐™ช๐™จ๐™š, such as disposable spoons, forks, plates, and cups.

As most of the plastic in the environment are ๐™ฃ๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™ง๐™š๐™˜๐™ฎ๐™˜๐™ก๐™–๐™—๐™ก๐™š, they often end up in landfills, and eventually in ๐™ง๐™ž๐™ซ๐™š๐™ง๐™จ ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™ค๐™˜๐™š๐™–๐™ฃ๐™จ. Fish, turtles, and other marine organisms often get ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™œ๐™ก๐™š๐™™ ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™™๐™–๐™ข๐™–๐™œ๐™š๐™™ to plastic.s. Because many of us also rely on marine life for food, eating fish ingested with plastic exposes consumers to risk of

So, what should we do? Let us revert our attention to using ๐™š๐™˜๐™ค-๐™›๐™ง๐™ž๐™š๐™ฃ๐™™๐™ก๐™ฎ alternatives for the plastic we use. We can drink from our own tumblers instead of bottled water. When eating, we may use metal cutlery in place of disposable ones, or opt to use the biodegradable paper plates, spoons, and forks instead. When shopping, we can instead bring a paper bag (or an eco bag).

Let us work together to ๐™ง๐™š๐™™๐™ช๐™˜๐™š ๐™ฅ๐™ก๐™–๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™˜ ๐™ฅ๐™ค๐™ก๐™ก๐™ช๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ and protect ๐™ก๐™ž๐™›๐™š ๐™—๐™š๐™ก๐™ค๐™ฌ ๐™ฌ๐™–๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง.

Although the ocean isn't a trash can, millions of tons of plastic still find their way into it each year. Waste harms coral reefs, fish eat microplastics, and sea turtles mistake plastic bags for jellyfish.

But it doesn't have to stay this way. Making small decisions, like using reusable things, picking up trash, or spreading awareness can make a big difference.

Your actions matter, and change starts with you!
