I have been working with Community and Family Services International (CFSI) for over a decade (15 continued years). I have no mandate, as no one elected me, but I have a mission to assist people, especially those uprooted and in challenging circumstances. Previously, as the Project Coordinator of the Mindanao Protection Project (MPP), my team and I supported Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) and
vulnerable individuals in Mindanao. Currently, I coordinate a project that promotes peace and local development in the six previously acknowledged camps of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (M**F), focusing on building sustainable and resilient communities previously affected by conflicts. My family and I were also forcibly displaced back in my early childhood. This personal experience drives my commitment to peace and development work, helping me relate to the sufferings and hardships of those recurrently displaced and fostering understanding and healing in conflict-affected areas. For me, humanitarian, peace, and development work is not just a job; it is an essential element of my Islamic faith that inspires me to do more and better. My current role in the M**F camps, promoting peace and local development, reflects my commitment to improving the lives of people in difficult circumstances. I hope to devote the following years to furthering peace and development in vulnerable communities. The 16 years of my career as a humanitarian, peace, and development worker are more than just an achievement; they are a legacy I will proudly impart to my children in the future, In sha Allah!
