Partners of Women's Empowerment for Leadership in Peace and Development (WELD Peace) in the Bangsamoro, Al-Mujadilah Development Foundation, Inc. (AMDF), Women Engaged in Action 1325 (WEAct 1325) & Oxfam Pilipinas, participated in the Public Consultations on the proposed Bangsamoro Gender and Development (GAD) Code, held in Lanao del Sur (24 January) and National Capital Region (NCR) (31 January).

Earlier, WELD partners held a study session and forged a consensus on a line-by-line recommendations to the BGAD Code and submitted it to the BTA Committee on Women, Youth, Children and Persons with Disabilities chaired by MP Diamila Disimban-Ramos.

MP Disimban-Ramos lauded the WELD Partners for submitting a comprehensive position paper.

Generation Peace Youth Network 8th General Assembly welcomes our new Lead Convenor Ms. Miara Fatima Mapandi.

Miara Fatima Mapandi is a licensed psychometrician and is one of the founding members of Leading Individuals to Flourish and Thrive (LIFT) Inc. Miara currently serves as the Mental Health Officer at the Panginam Healing and Wellness Center.

Miara is our GenPeace Cluster Coordinator for Lanao del Sur since 2016 and has been involved in various local activities that promote youth and women empowerment and promotion of human rights. After graduating in Mindanao State University – Main Campus in 2018, she has been pursuing professional development by continuing her studies in Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan taking Master of Arts in Psychology since 2019.
