Advancing its commitment to youth leadership and meaningful civic participation, ๐๐๐๐๐๐ marked its presence at the ๐ฐ๐ฉ๐ ๐ฝ๐๐ฃ๐๐จ๐๐ข๐ค๐ง๐ค ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฉ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ก๐๐๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ (๐ฝ๐๐) through its delegates, ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ก๐ค๐ฃ and ๐๐ช๐๐๐ง๐ฉ๐ค ๐๐จ๐ข๐๐ฃ, held from ๐
๐ช๐ก๐ฎ ๐ฎ๐ณโ๐ฏ๐ญ, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ. As part of the 80-member youth parliament, the delegates assumed the roles of Members of Parliament and participated in a five-day simulation of parliamentary proceedings, covering the drafting and submission of bills and resolutions, committee hearings and sessions, and the presentation of proposed measures during the First Reading.
Throughout the parliament, the delegates navigated the drafting, sponsorship, revision, and deliberation of legislative measures while observing parliamentary rules and procedures. They were guided by Resident Parliamentarians, composed of attorneys, who provided technical supervision and corrective guidance throughout the proceedings. Beyond the simulation, the experience provided practical exposure to legislative mechanisms, parliamentary protocol, and policy deliberation, while further developing their critical thinking, public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills.
More than a parliamentary simulation, the Bangsamoro Youth Parliament (BYP) serves as a mechanism for youth representation and civic participation, amplifying the voices of young Bangsamoro through legislative discourse, policy engagement, and deliberative processes that enable them to contribute meaningfully to the regionโs governance and continuing development.
