SSLG Officers Participate in Monthly Clean-Up Drive in Barangay Sta. Felomina
Makilala, Cotabato — Demonstrating their commitment to environmental responsibility and community service, the selected Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) officers of Bienvenido Orteza High School actively participated in the weekly Clean-Up Drive organized by Barangay Sta. Felomina.
The activity, held as part of the barangay’s ongoing campaign on solid waste management, takes place every Friday of the month. It aims to promote cleanliness, proper waste disposal, and environmental awareness among residents and the youth.
The SSLG officers joined barangay officials, volunteers, and community members in cleaning public areas, collecting waste, and segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials. Their participation reflects the school’s advocacy in instilling discipline, cooperation, and environmental consciousness among students.
According to barangay officials, the involvement of young leaders plays a significant role in encouraging others to take part in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. The initiative not only strengthens community engagement but also fosters a sense of shared responsibility.
The school administration expressed its full support for the activity, emphasizing the importance of student involvement in civic and environmental programs. Through this initiative, the SSLG officers continue to serve as role models, proving that leadership goes beyond the classroom and into the community.
