The newly elected Junior Youth Public Officials (JYPO) officially began their weeklong leadership immersion on Monday, August 10, 2026, navigating a jam-packed schedule of official ceremonies, legislative observation, and executive courtesy visits.
The day opened with a devotional session, setting a reflective tone before the youth delegates joined provincial government employees for the regular Flag Raising Ceremony and Convocation. A pivotal moment of the morning was the Sashing Ceremony, where the 44 delegates received official recognition in their designated roles at the Capitol Lobby. Following the ceremony, participants underwent a quick photo session for the issuance of their ARTA-like identification cards.
Prioritizing holistic well-being alongside governance, the delegates then proceeded to Bahay Katutubo for a mental health assessment administered by Ms. Gelyn Resano, RPm.
On the other hand, the afternoon brought direct engagement with the province's highest leadership. The junior counterparts paid a courtesy visit to the Office of Provincial Governor Hon. Raul G. Mabanglo, gaining direct insights into executive administration. They subsequently attended the 58th Regular Session of the 10th Sangguniang Panlalawigan to observe local legislative procedures firsthand, followed by a visit to the Office of Provincial Vice Governor Hon. Dorothy P. Montejo-Gonzaga.
Designed as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, Day 1 provided the 44 young leaders with an immersive, comprehensive look into the day-to-day responsibilities of provincial public service.
