๐๐๐๐: The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office No. III extended assistance to the Alliance of Yokohama Supervisors โ PTGWO through the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) for the implementation of its
With a total project cost of โฑ1,250,000.00, DOLE provided a livelihood grant amounting to โฑ1 million, complemented by a โฑ250,000 counterpart from the union. The project aims to establish a sustainable enterprise that will procure and resell office and school supplies, grocery items, and cleaning and sanitation materials to union members and employees of Yokohama Tire Philippines, Inc., as well as nearby community members.
The initiative directly benefits all AYS-PTGWO members and responds to the rising cost of living by offering essential goods at affordable prices through a structured system of cash and salary deduction payments. Beyond providing access to reasonably priced commodities, the project also serves as an alternative income-generating activity for the beneficiaries, promoting self-reliance, solidarity, and strengthened economic resilience among workers.
Through this intervention, DOLE reinforces its commitment to empowering labor organizations and advancing sustainable livelihood opportunities for Filipino workers.
Present during the turnover of check were Regional Director Geraldine Panlilio, TSSD-LRLS Director Maria Rima Hernandez, and AYS-PTGWO Union President Nelson Torres.
