"Changing lives, one child at a time through VolunteerISEM"

VolunteerISEM is a flagship community development initiative of JCI Vigan that aims to provide holistic approach to child development and welfare. At its core, VolunteerISEM is about inspiring, sharing, empowering and mentoring. It bridges the gap between those who have resources and those in need. One of its missions is to uplift children facing economic challenges by providing educational support and healthcare services.

JCI Vigan and other passionate volunteer groups will come together to empower 50 pupils from Lao-ingen Elementary School on June 6, 2025 by providing support through various programs and activities to help them thrive and succeed in every dimension of life.

Activities Include:
-Free medical and dental check-ups & consultations, simple dental procedures and giving out vitamins
-Dental hygiene education & basic care
-Provision of school supplies and hygiene kits
-Mental health awareness sessions
-Financial literacy through age-appropriate discussions

Our volunteers will surely make a powerful impact not just in what they support, but in how they will make every child feel seen, supported, and inspired. In a world where many issues feel overwhelming, volunteering provides a way to take meaningful action. It proves that individual efforts, when multiplied, can make a real difference.

Let’s keep the spirit of volunteerism alive. Together, we build futures!

𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗠 😁🫰

On December 14, 2024, JJC Vigan Buridek in partnership with JCI Vigan, SK Bagbagotot, and Ilocos Sur Environmental Enthusiasts (ISEE), conducted VolunteerISEM: Inspire, Share, Empower and Mentor project at Brgy. Bagbagotot in Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur. This community-focused initiative aimed to engage local residents in a variety of educational and creative activities designed to inspire and empower participants.

One of the highlights of the event was the turnover of books from JJC Vigan Buridek to the community. This initiative aimed to promote literacy and a love for reading among young children. Following this, a special book reading session was conducted featuring "Adventures Ni Iseeyah”.

Participants also enjoyed hands-on activities during the arts and crafts segment. In collaboration with ISEE and JCI Vigan, children colored their coloring books while expressing their creativity. Additionally, they crafted heart pieces and traced the symbol of peace during the "HapPeaceness" activity led by JCI Vigan.

To further enhance community well-being, JJC Vigan Buridek conducted a lecture on hygiene practices. Led by President Licia Joyce V. Mariñas, this informative session covered essential topics such as proper handwashing and tooth brushing techniques. Participants were provided with hygiene kits at the end of the lecture, ensuring they had the necessary tools to maintain good health practices at home.

Through initiatives like VolunteerISEM, JJC Vigan Buridek continues to play a vital role in nurturing future leaders committed to making a difference in their communities. The success of this event highlights the power of collaboration among local organizations in uplifting the community and instilling values of literacy, creativity, and health awareness among the youth.

Bloom Again: Spark Joy, Spread Love

JCI Vigan, in collaboration with JCI San Fernando Saluyot, JCI San Juan Dalluyon, and JJC Vigan Buridek, come together for a heartwarming mission at the Home for Girls in Agoo, La Union
on December 28,2024.

This joint project aims to brighten the lives of young girls by sharing not only gifts but also time, care, and hope. With every smile exchanges and every story to be shared, these girls will be reminded of their inherent strength and beauty, inspiring them to bloom again despite life’s challenges.

Together, let us prove that collective kindness has the power to heal, empower, and transform lives. Let’s continue to spark joy and spread love, because the world needs more of it!

𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 🍃🌱

Last December 14, 2024, JJC Vigan Buridek, in partnership with JCI Vigan, and Ilocos Sur Environmental Enthusiasts (ISEE), initiated the "Green Barriers: Tree Growing Activity" in Sitio Bagbag, Bagbagotot, Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur. This initiative aimed to promote environmental sustainability by planting 60 cacao tree seedlings in the area.

JJC Vigan Buridek is committed in empowering young leaders towards fruitful change, focusing on youth-led projects that matter. Therefore, the tree planting is aligned with the goal of developing the youths by instilling skills for being a leader and coming with innovative ideas to impact change around them and contribute to their communities or the environment.

Through initiatives like this, JJC Vigan Buridek aims to instill a sense of responsibility among the youth while addressing pressing environmental issues. By nurturing these cacao trees, the project not only enhances biodiversity but also encourages future generations to take an active role in preserving the environment.

JJC Vigan Buridek's First Step Toward a Greener Future: Coastal Clean-Up at Ilocanos Sur

On November 3, 2024, JJC Vigan Buridek completed its very first project, a Coastal Clean-Up at Brgy. Ilocanos Sur, San Fernando City, La Union. It was such a wonderful experience that reminded us just how important it is to take care of our oceans and the environment.

What made it even more special was our partnership with JCI Vigan, JCI San Fernando Saluyot and SK Ilocanos Sur. Working together with these amazing organizations made our project even more meaningful. We came as one to clean up the shores of Ilocanos Sur, and even though it was just one clean-up, it felt like a big step toward a cleaner, greener future.

We’re proud of what we accomplished, but this is only the beginning for us! As JJC Vigan Buridek continues to grow, we’re committed to starting more projects that not only protect nature but also inspire future generations to get involved and make a difference too! 💚🌏

The “BOOKtiful Journey” book drive, led by JCI Vigan Buridek, in partnership with JCI Vigan, Ilocos Sur Environmental Enthusiasts, UNP-Biology Society, and City 7 Coworking & Study Space, will be launched tomorrow, November 25- November 29,2024 to bring educational resources to children in the upland areas of Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur. This initiative focuses on collecting books and other educational materials to help inspire a love for reading and learning among the youth in underserved communities.

Through “BOOKtiful Journey,” JCI Vigan Buridek aims to support literacy development and provide access to knowledge for children who may have limited educational resources in their area.
