Barili Interconnected Services for Youth Organization

LOOK | Barili Interconnected Services for Youth Organization, represented by Pres. Zean Pantilgone and PIO, Neil Recilla, participated in the Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) Program Implementation Review (PIR) focused on strengthening and sustaining youth-centered initiatives.

The Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region VII conducted its first-ever Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) Program Implementation Review (PIR) on February 11-13, 2025 at Bayfront Hotel, Cebu City.

This collaborative activity was attended by LGUs that have successfully organized Peer Educator Organizations and implemented AHD initiatives through their dedicated Population and Development (POPDEV) Officers and passionate Peer Educators.

The PIR aimed to:
✅ Evaluate the effectiveness, challenges, and best practices in AHD implementation.
✅ Strengthen the capacities of POPDEV Officers and Peer Educators in delivering adolescent-friendly health programs.
✅ Foster collaboration among LGUs to develop sustainable, institutionalized AHD strategies that will continue to benefit the youth in the long run.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Local Government Unit, under the esteemed leadership of Mayor John-John Garcia, for their generous support and for providing the allowance that enabled us to attend this activity. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the Commission on Population and Development Region VII for providing us with the valuable opportunity to be involved in this significant activity. This experience has been incredibly enriching, and it will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping our future endeavors.

The Municipality of Barili and the Barili Interconnected Services for Youth Organization (BISYO) received multiple recognitions at the Commission on Population and Development Region VII's Rafel M. Salas Kaunlarang Pantao Awards and Recognition Ceremony.

- Special Plaques of Recognition for Peer Education Volunteers for the exemplary contribution and performance of volunteer work on training, resource generation, leadership, and support to peer-led Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) program activities and other youth-related initiatives

- Special Plaque of Recognition for Local Government Units supporting the PopDev Programs and varied strategies in view of Localization.

- Special Achievement Award for the Performance of Local Government Units in the implementation of Adolescent Health and Development Strategies and establishing Local Teen Centers

Malipayon kaayo kami nga ipahibaw kaninyo nga opisyal nang gi-ablihan ang atong bag-ong Teen Center dinhi sa Barili! Kini usa ka simbolo sa atong panaghiusa ug dedikasyon alang sa kaayohan sa mga kabatan-onan sa lungsod.

Among dakong pasalamat kang Mayor John-John Garcia sa walay hunong nga pag supporta sa atong mga programa ug mao mismo ang nanguna sa pagpangita og lugar para sa atong Teen Center ug sa pagpa-renovate sa espasyo aron mahimong komportable ug mas angay alang sa kabatan-onan. Among dakong pasalamat usab kang Dr. Michelle Anne R. Dagoy, ang atong Population Officer, sa walay pag-lubad nga pag gabay, pag tabang, ug pag hatag ug supporta sa organisasyon. Kang sir Joshua Almadin, atong Local Youth Development Officer, nga maoy atong kanunay nga kaabag sa pag panirbisyo. The script narrates Hera's story, a 20-year-old university student struggling with the demands of a life dictated by her abusive and alcoholic father, who has pushed her into a major she doesn't want. The tragic loss of her mother casts a shadow over her troubled past, a loss her father blames her for. While facing challenging situations, Hera reunites with Elijah, a daring young man who enjoys taking chances. Nevertheless, their meeting spirals into a negative situation with the involvement of drug use and a possible assault. Struggling with feelings of guilt and past wounds, Hera finds solace in reminiscing about her mother and starts to mend her bond with her father, who acknowledges his faults and vows to make amends.
