We just wrapped up an incredible week of learning at Bear Valley Bible Institute Philippines!
From June 8 to 12, 2026, our students dove deep into the Intertestamental Period, uncovering the powerful history that sets the stage for the New Testament.

COURSE BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
WHAT IS INTERTESTAMENTAL PERIOD?

The Intertestamental Period is the 400-year gap between the Old and New Testaments. It spans from the completion of the book of Malachi to the arrival of John the Baptizer.

Often called the "400 Silent Years" because no new scripture was recorded, it was a time of massive geopolitical and cultural upheaval.
During this era, the rise of the Greek and Roman empires, the translation of the Hebrew Bible into Greek, and the emergence of groups like the Pharisees completely reshaped the world. Studying this period bridges the gap between the testaments. It explains the exact political and religious landscape Jesus stepped into.

Get to know Keith Kasarjian, Director of International Studies.

Keith and his wife, Kim, have been married since 1990 and are blessed with three children—Molly, Kyle, and Blake—as well as two grandsons, Jameson and Banks, whom he affectionately calls his “grand buddies.”

Keith preached his first sermon at the age of 15 and has devoted more than 35 years to full-time ministry. Throughout his preaching career, he has served congregations in Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Faulkner University and a Master of Biblical Studies degree from the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver.

Keith considers it a tremendous blessing to help train the next generation of gospel preachers through Bear Valley’s international program. Currently, Bear Valley operates 87 international schools across 31 countries, serving approximately 1,400 students annually. While enrolled, these students collectively baptize around 5,000 people each year.

When he is not teaching or traveling, Keith enjoys running, fitness, scuba diving, and golf. He is also working toward becoming a very average pickleball player.

This Wednesday, we’re excited to spotlight faculty member Michael Hite.

Michael Hite brings a wide range of secular and ministry experience to his work at Bear Valley Bible Institute. Before entering full-time ministry, he managed retail stores across the United States and later applied his artistic abilities to Graphic Design and Marketing Communications. His corporate experience eventually led him to start his own design firm.

In 2002, Michael left secular work to enroll as a student at Bear Valley, where he was soon hired as Director of Marketing while continuing his studies. He later began student teaching and was eventually added to the faculty as a full-time teacher and administrator. His business background proved to be a strong fit for the Institute, leading to his current role as Vice President of Operations alongside his teaching responsibilities.

Michael teaches exegetical textual studies in the Gospel of Mark, the Gospel of Luke, and the General Epistles, as well as specialized courses on teaching methods and the effective use of technology in ministry. His expertise in biblical exegesis and his skillful use of Logos Bible Software have been a significant blessing to the Institute’s work.

In addition to his work at Bear Valley, Michael has participated in short-term mission work and teaching in South America, Africa, and Asia. He also serves as an elder for the Bear Valley congregation.

A self-professed nerd and artist, Michael’s office is filled with Star Wars memorabilia and space shuttles. He enjoys wildlife drawing and photography, and dabbles in 3D printing. Michael and his wife, Lynn, were married in 1987 and have two grown children: Melissa, who is married and lives in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Matthew, who is married and serves as a youth minister in Houston, Texas. Michael and Lynn are also proud grandparents of Kaylynn Rey (3) and Cassidy Wren (18 months), born to Matthew and his wife, Haley.

We had a great class this week studying PERSONAL EVANGELISM 1 with brother Danny Torcende Torniado (BVBI-P Graduate 2024).

After our final exam, we had the opportunity to celebrate brother Danny's 50th birthday. More birthdays and blessings to you.
