World War I did not happen solely because of the assassination of a monarch, rather, it was due to the uprising of witches, magicians who harbor ill-will and vengance for the fellow magicians executed unjustly during the Salem Witch Trials. Now that the war is over however, the world of magic and normalcy have merged, not everyone is happy about it. Magicians are ostracized, races of magical descent, even more. But the threat of another magical uprising is in the horizon.

Set in the Forgotten Realms

In a village nearing the river borders of the Giant’s Plain, an ancient tunnel network has been discovered. With its uncovering, it brought about a series of strange events. Odd weather patterns struck the village, causing their land to become barren and fruitless. For a month, the villagers suffered losses to their livelihood and quality of life, prompting the village elder to finally seek help.

A large group has advanced before you, but it has been a week since, and they have not returned. Fearing the worst, the elder tasked the merchants of the village to implore help from the city of Eshpurta. With the hustle of the trade season, and the simple village having nothing left to offer, their petitions fell into the deaf ears of most of the city’s inhabitants. However, a lord and his acquaintance caught wind of the odd quandary. After hearing the story of the merchants, the noble and the knight-errant decided to take action, beckoning those who are virtuous or merely vicious to vanquish the peculiar and vexing villainy. From the noble, gold; from the knight, his blade. Bravery will be rewarded, and so will foolishness…

You are adventurers who have answered the call—the pleas to save the village from this plight. Will you discover some kind of grandeur? Perhaps plunder treasures? Maybe unearth great secrets? And, ultimately, will you be able to reach the unfathomable cause?
