: Yesterday, May 10, Bantay Bigay participated in a voters' education forum hosted by Botokado: Pagtuon, Pagpili, Pagboto in partnership with Coalition of Anti-War Advocates and Youth - CAWAY and SK Lahug at Sitio Tarcom Covered Court, Brgy. Lahug, Cebu City.

In the forum, Ms. Myra Zyrene Andal discussed the current electoral landscape and the realities of Philippine politics and governance while highlighting the importance of pagpapakatao or humanity in a democracy. Afterwards, Mr. Bernard Rabino facilitated a people's agenda and call to action, giving the participants and students the opportunity to connect and share their lived experiences in order to craft strategies and activities that respond to the needs of the community.

Bantay Bigay members Alexis Punsalan and Genevieve Rosal also gave a short discussion on the direct and indirect effects of vote-buying and highlighted the green flags and red flags of candidates.

Congratulations to Botokado for hosting a successful and eventful forum! We are deeply grateful for your invitation and in giving us the opportunity and platform to share our advocacy to the people. We look forward to future initiatives and partnerships as part of our shared commitment to safeguarding our democracy 💗

We call upon the COMELEC Committee on Kontra Bigay to resolve this concern raised by our fellow residents of Concepcion Pequena, Naga City.

These allegations must be taken seriously and swiftly investigated to maintain the integrity of our elections.
