Good evening, Cebu City.

After careful assessment of the weather situation and the improving conditions in our communities, face-to-face classes in all levels will resume tomorrow in Cebu City.

✅ WHY CLASSES WILL RESUME:
• Weather conditions have stabilized
• Majority of school facilities are now safe for use
• Roads to schools have been cleared for safer travel
• Continuing education is important for normalcy and emotional recovery, especially for children
• Teachers and students benefit from returning to routine and structure

However, schools that are still being used as evacuation centers will continue accommodating displaced families. Classrooms that are not occupied by evacuees will be utilized for instruction, while coordination continues for temporary relocation sites.

We remind everyone to:
✔ stay alert to localized advisories
✔ follow safety guidance from school administrators
✔ practice caution due to occasional rains
✔ support classmates and families still affected

Let us move forward together—restoring normalcy, protecting learners, and rebuilding our city.

CODE BLUE ACTIVATED – CEBU CITY--All SCHOOLS CLASSES temporarily SUSPENDED -24Nov2025

Good evening, Cebu City.

The Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CCDRRMO) has officially declared CODE BLUE due to two major concerns:

1️⃣ The ongoing aftermath of Typhoon Tino — including flooding, landslide risks, and unstable ground conditions; and
2️⃣ An incoming weather disturbance expected to bring heavy rains to our city in the coming hours.

Because of these heightened risks, enhanced preparedness measures are now in effect.

🔵 Education Advisory

Upon the recommendation of the CCDRRRMO, the City Government is advising the temporary suspension of all face-to-face classes.
Schools are directed to shift to modular or asynchronous learning until weather conditions stabilize.

🔵 Heightened Emergency Response

All disaster, rescue, medical, engineering, traffic, and barangay teams are on full readiness for rapid deployment.

🔵 Evacuation, Safety & Clearing Operations
• Evacuation centers remain open and fully supported.
• Residents in danger zones, riversides, slopes, and landslide-prone areas are urged to stay alert and follow barangay instructions.
• Heavy equipment and clearing teams are now stationed in identified landslide areas to ensure quick response and immediate clearing of debris.
• Avoid unnecessary travel, especially in high-risk and low-lying areas.

🔵 Relief & Essential Services

The City continues to work on the immediate restoration of:
• Water supply
• Power lines
• Roads, bridges, and access routes

Food and water distribution will continue for affected families.

🔵 Public Advisory

We call on everyone to:
• Monitor official announcements
• Report emergencies immediately
• Look after the elderly, children, PWDs, and pregnant women

The Cebu City Government under my leadership is working hard and smart to keep everyone safe and to accelerate recovery efforts.
