# Everyday Saints: Edgar's Second Chance

Meet Edgar.

There was a time in his life when addiction had taken control.

Coming from a family that worked hard to build a business, he never imagined that drugs would eventually consume him. His addiction became so severe that he began selling things from their own home just to sustain his habit.

Watching him spiral downward was painful for his family.

Hoping to help him recover, they encouraged him to enter a rehabilitation program. He completed it and for a while, things seemed better.

But addiction is a difficult battle.

Eventually, Edgar returned to his old habits.

Many people would see this as another failure.

But for Edgar, it became a moment of honesty.

He realized he needed help.

This time, no one forced him.

He chose to return to rehabilitation on his own.

And that decision changed everything.

During his stay at the center, he learned not only about recovery from addiction but also about rebuilding his relationship with God.

When his program ended, he knew he needed more than sobriety.

He needed a community.

He needed people who would help him continue walking with the Lord.

Searching through Facebook one day, he came across Singles for Christ and reached out to a chapter he found online.

A sister from the community responded and welcomed him to attend their activities.

He came.

Then he came back again.

At first, he admits it was partly because of the sister he had met.

But over time, something deeper happened.

He discovered a relationship with God that was stronger than the life he had left behind.

The community became his support system.

His faith grew.

His life found new direction.

Years later, the sister who first welcomed him became his mission partner, then eventually his wife.

Today, they serve together in Couples for Christ and are blessed with a beautiful daughter.

Looking at Edgar's life today, it would be easy to focus on where he is now.

But perhaps the most inspiring part of his story is this:

His transformation began when he stopped pretending he could fix everything on his own.

It began when he admitted he needed help.

His story reminds us that asking for help is not a sign of weakness.

Sometimes it is the first step toward healing.

And sometimes God's greatest miracles begin with a simple act of surrender.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
— 2 Corinthians 5:17

Everyday Saints: A Story of Redemption

Meet Bro. Marco.

If you met him today, you would probably know him as a hardworking Foodpanda rider, a dedicated leader in Singles for Christ, and a passionate speaker who inspires others to return to God.

What many people don't know is that his journey wasn't always like this.

As a teenager, he was active in Youth for Christ and had a relationship with God. But as life unfolded, he made choices that led him down a different path. Those choices eventually resulted in imprisonment and a six-year sentence.

The weight of his mistakes was overwhelming.

There were moments when he felt hopeless. Moments when he questioned whether his life still had meaning. Moments when he considered giving up entirely.

Then one day, while inside prison, he came across a Bible verse:

"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." — Jeremiah 33:3

For many people, it might have been just another verse.

For him, it became an invitation.

An invitation to pray again.
An invitation to repent.
An invitation to trust that God had not abandoned him.

From that moment on, his life began to change.

He devoted himself to God, continued his education while in prison, and worked to become a better person each day. Because of his good conduct, he was eventually granted release after five years.

Today, he uses his story not to glorify his past mistakes, but to testify to God's mercy.

As a leader in Singles for Christ, he often speaks about repentance and faith—not from a book, but from personal experience.

His story reminds us that no failure is greater than God's grace.

Sometimes the people with the most powerful testimonies are those who have experienced God's mercy in the deepest way.

Because redemption is not about where we've been.

It's about what God can do when we finally call upon Him.

Happy Mother's day to all mothers! God bless you all! 😊😊😊

Mary knows worry. She knows waiting.
She knows what it means to carry love and fear in the same heart, to trust God when answers don’t come right away.
That is why she comes to us like a true mother—gentle, attentive, and close. Mary understands our anxieties, our silent tears, and the hopes we protect so carefully. She consoles us as a mother would, drawing us near and reminding us that we are deeply loved, especially in moments when we feel weakest.
On this Mother’s Day, we turn to Mary as our Mother, grateful for her constant intercession and tender care—and we give thanks for all mothers whose love reflects her own.

A Prayer for Mothers
Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of mothers—
for their patience, their sacrifices, and their quiet strength.
Bless them with peace when they are weary.
with joy when their hearts are full,
and with comfort when they carry concerns for their children.
May Mary, our Mother, watch over them.
intercede for them,
and wrap them in her gentle love.
Grant all mothers renewed hope and strength today.
and reward them for the love they so freely give.
