RAISING OUR SHEPHERD TO THE ALTAR OF SAINTS
"Stir into Flame the Gift of God"
(2 Timothy 1:6)

My dear people of God in the Archdiocese of Lingayen Dagupan: The Holy See through the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints in its letter dated January 26, 2026 Prot. No. 3824-1/25 graciously and kindly granted the favor to the undersigned to open the inquiry into the life and virtues, as well as the fame of holiness and signs for the Beatification and Canonization of the Servant of God Cesar Maria Guerrero y Dominguez, First Bishop of Lingayen.

In order to fittingly celebrate this historical milestone in our life as a Church, the Opening of the Cause of the Servant of God Cesar Maria Guerrero will be held on March 27, 2026, Friday, the sixty-fifth death anniversary of the Servant of God, at the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist. The ceremonies will begin at 3:30 pm and will conclude with a Mass immediately after.

I am inviting all the priests, religious men and women, lay leaders and youth leaders to join this unprecedented historic event in Pangasinan.

The fame of sanctity of our first Bishop continues to this day. In his lifetime, at his death and even up to our times, the Catholic faithful piously remember him as "sabio y santo" which means wise and saintly.

Pray to God that our first Bishop now Servant of God Cesar Maria Guerrero may be raised to the altar of Holy Mother Church as one of our saints. Here is the official prayer for his canonization:

O God, who in your providence call forth exemplary servants like Cesar Maria Guerrero to renew your Church through devotion to Mary, priestly formation, and zeal for reform, graciously grant that, by his intercession, we may advance in holiness and that your Church may soon venerate him among the blessed. ✨ 𝗝𝗨𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗘 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗧. 𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗦 ✨

By decree of the Apostolic Penitentiary issued on January 10, 2026, at the request of Pope Leo XIV, the Church has solemnly proclaimed a special Year of Saint Francis of Assisi, running from January 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027.

This Jubilee Year commemorates the 800th anniversary of the passage into Heaven of Saint Francis of Assisi (†1226), the Seraphic Patriarch and one of the most beloved saints in Christian history.

More than a remembrance of the past, this jubilee is offered as a gift of grace for the entire Church—not only for the Franciscan Family, but for all the faithful—so that this anniversary may become a moment of authentic spiritual renewal in our own time.

A Saint for Our Times

The decree emphasizes the enduring relevance of Saint Francis in today’s world. His radical Gospel life—marked by poverty, humility, peace, and love for creation—continues to speak powerfully to a humanity wounded by division, violence, and indifference. The Holy Father invites all Christians to “become saints in the contemporary world, following the example of the Seraphic Patriarch,” transforming hope into concrete charity and a sincere commitment to peace.

In this jubilee, the Church calls the faithful to rediscover Francis not merely as a gentle lover of nature, but as a man conformed to Christ Crucified, whose life was a living proclamation of the Gospel.

The Gift of a Plenary Indulgence

Throughout the entire Year of Saint Francis, the Apostolic Penitentiary grants the possibility of obtaining a plenary indulgence, applicable either to oneself or in suffrage for the souls in Purgatory.

The indulgence is granted under the usual conditions:

-Sacramental Confession
-Eucharistic Communion
-Prayer according to the intentions of the Holy Father
-A heart truly detached from sin

How the Faithful May Obtain the Indulgence

The indulgence may be obtained by:

-Members of the Franciscan Family
-Ecclesial communities inspired by the Franciscan charism
-All the faithful

During the Jubilee Year, the faithful are invited to:

-Make a pilgrimage to a Franciscan church or to a place of worship dedicated to Saint Francis
-Participate in Jubilee rites, or pause for prayer and meditation
-Conclude with the Our Father, the Creed, and invocations to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Francis, Saint Clare of Assisi, and the Saints of the Franciscan Family

Mercy for All, Especially the Suffering

With pastoral sensitivity, special consideration is given to the elderly, the sick, and those unable to leave their homes. They, too, may obtain the indulgence by spiritually uniting themselves to the jubilee celebrations, offering their prayers and sufferings to God with trust and love.

The Apostolic Penitentiary also encourages priests to make themselves generously available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, so that this jubilee may truly become a time of mercy and healing for the People of God.

A Time of Favor for the Whole Church

The Year of Saint Francis presents itself as a time of favor and grace, offered freely to all. As the Holy Father expresses his hope, may this jubilee awaken anew in hearts “feelings of Christian charity toward one’s neighbor and an authentic desire for harmony and peace among peoples.”

Eight centuries after his death, Saint Francis still calls the Church—and the world—to conversion. This Jubilee Year invites us not only to honor him, but to walk in his footsteps, rebuilding the Church through lives transformed by the Gospel.

𝗠𝘆 𝗗𝗠'𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲 𝘂𝗽, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲.

From a young age growing up as a boy living in the northern suburbs of Sydney Australia, I was taught by society that to be "successful" as a man meant I needed to have a bunch of women, money and fame.

So I ended up chasing these things my whole life, until suddenly at the age of 23 years old, I woke up one morning and realised I basically had everything I had ever dreamed about..

My DM's were full of girls hitting me up. I gained millions of followers on social media so I would walk out onto the street and anywhere I went I would have heads turn, people running up to me asking for photos, special treatment everywhere I went and the list goes on...

Now I'm not telling you this story to brag by any means, but to rather demonstrate that I had basically everything that so many of us aspire to achieve one day, but there is another side to the coin that no one tells you about until you've experienced it all first hand just like I have...

There was this pivotal point I got to in late March 2021.

I was living in Melbourne during the time, and I had moved away from my hometown of Sydney because Melbourne was more 'fun" and the parties were crazier.

After a huge monster weekend of doing everything under the sun, I remember having this thought and it has stuck with me to this very day.

I woke up in my fancy apartment in Melbourne CBD and said to myself "I want a wife and kids one day, but I don't know how I'm ever going to get myself out of this hook-up lifestyle.."

The words sprung out of my mouth without me even realising the meaning of what I had even said, but deep down in my soul, I knew that this lifestyle I was living was dragging me into a lifetime of hell.

We all have our own weaknesses, and mine was lust.

If you look at countless stories throughout history, a man is only as strong as he can contain his lust. Historically speaking, lust has brought down some the strongest kings to ever exist and has weakened the most prolific men with the greatest callings upon their lives..

And I was suffering from the exact same thing.

Throughout my life I could never hold down a proper healthy relationship, because I was told that all successful men have countless women, but I was also fed the lie of "if the butterflies are gone it means you don't love them."

Society propagates that love is a mere fleeting feeling, and that if one day after 30 years of being married to your spouse you wake up one day and don't "feel" the same chemistry as you once did, go turn on the radio and you'll hear Ariana Grande lyrically preaching to the masses saying "break up with your girlfriend I'm bored" or "thank you next."

"The grass is greener on the other side", they all say.. but trust me...

It isn't.

I'll be honest with you, I used to say "Oh I'm young so I'll muck around until I'm older then I'll settle down", but the truth of the matter is that by me doing this for so many years, I conditioned myself to see women in the wrong way, and in turn I ended up delaying myself building a meaningful life and future with one person that would be the mother to my children.

So much of what the world propagates is completely wrong, and I was a product of this lie.

Looking back on my past, I realised that the lowest point of my life was when I was about to take my own life..

I realised that women, money and fame couldn't possibly fulfil me. And the only thing that could fill my spirit was God.

Getting out of the hook-up lifestyle is so so hard and if I could go back in time I would gladly have settled down with a good woman with good values instead of all this partying and craziness.

Don't fall for the lies and the traps of the devil. The flashing lights and shiny object syndrome way of perceiving the world is the quickest way to go downhill and ruin your life.

There are thousands of rich, famous celebrities that had everything we could all possibly want, but ended up destroying their lives in the blink of an eye.

I would advise everyone to not be fooled and go back to basics. I believe that traditional values need to be protected and I pray that everyone reading this is able to see a different perspective about the things you may be chasing ❤️
