Today, September 15, we joyfully commemorate the 133rd Founding Anniversary of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Lourdes in the Philippines, established on September 15, 1893, at the Capuchin Church of Intramuros, Manila.
For 133 years, this devotion has continued to flourish through generations of faithful devotees who have entrusted themselves to the maternal care and loving intercession of Nuestra SeΓ±ora de Lourdes. From its humble beginnings in Manila, the Confraternity has grown into a beautiful spiritual family united by one mission: to know, love, honor, and spread devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes.
As the Confraternity of Our Lady of Lourdes β San Fernando Chapter, we are deeply grateful to be part of this long and blessed history. May the example of our predecessors inspire us to remain faithful custodians of the devotion and courageous witnesses of Mary's love in our families, parishes, and communities.
On this special occasion, we entrust all members, officers, and devotees of the Confraternity to the maternal protection of Our Lady of Lourdes. May she continually guide our steps closer to her Son, Jesus Christ, and teach us to live with humility, charity, prayer, and unwavering faith.
We also seek the intercession of Saint Bernadette Soubirous, whose simple and faithful response to Our Lady remains an inspiration for every devotee.
May the years ahead bring forth even greater unity, holiness, and devotion among all members of the Confraternity.
