Today, September 14, the Roman Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, honoring the Cross as the instrument through which Christ revealed the depth of Godโs love for humanity.
The Cross reminds us that suffering is not the end. Through His sacrifice, Jesus showed us the true meaning of love, forgiveness, humility, and selflessness. In the moments when we carry pain, anger, disappointment, and uncertainty, the Cross calls us to surrender our burdens to God, forgive those who have hurt us, and trust in His plan even amid our struggles.
To carry our own cross is not to walk alone. It is to remain faithful even when the journey becomes difficult, knowing that Christ walks with us every step of the way. The Cross is not a symbol of defeat, but a sign of love, hope, and salvation.
For us Scouts, the Cross also reminds us that service is a form of sacrifice. To live our commitment to God and country means being willing to give our time, strength, and talents for othersโeven when service is difficult or comes without recognition. In every act of kindness, every duty faithfully performed, and every person we choose to serve, may we learn to carry our crosses with courage and turn our faith into action.
May we carry the Cross, live our faith, and serve with love. โ๏ธ
