The Cavite Youth Astronomy Society (CYAS) is deeply grateful and honored to have been part of the SIKLAB KABATAAN Leadership Seminar today at the Cavite City Auditorium, organized by the SK Federation of Zone 6, Cavite City.

We left the venue feeling absolutely empowered, energized, and deeply inspired to elevate our service to the community. Hearing the wisdom shared by the guest speakers and panel speakers completely refueled our passion for youth leadership, reminding us of a powerful truth: do not compete, but collaborate.

The CYAS Observation Crew caught this stunning view of yesterday evening’s gorgeous Waxing Crescent Moon shining bright over Lancaster!
We had an incredible time sharing the night sky with everyone at the Woodcress 1 - Free Telescope Viewing event on May 22. There is nothing quite like seeing those lunar craters up close and personal with the community.

Huge thanks to Woodcress HOA for inviting us over to your community and everyone who came out to look through the scopes with us! 🔭✨

🌌 Look up! The western horizon is putting on an absolute show tonight. ✨

Earlier tonight, we were able to catch the stunning close approach of the brilliant Jupiter cozying up next to a slender, glowing Waxing Crescent Moon. 🌙
Nearby, you could also spot the famous twin stars of the Gemini constellation, Pollux and Castor, shining bright and keeping them company.

Step outside, enjoy the warm evening breeze, and don't miss this cosmic rendezvous.

🍱💛 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐉𝐄𝐂𝐓 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀 | 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐄 💛🍱

With warm meals and grateful hearts, Project PARA was carried out to give back to jeepney drivers who tirelessly serve the community every day. In the midst of rising costs and long hours on the road, this small gesture aimed to remind them that their efforts are seen, valued, and appreciated.

Over 50 jeepney drivers received meals during the initiative, each one met with smiles, conversations, and shared moments of gratitude. The team didn’t stop there—along the way, they also reached out to other drivers, extending help beyond the planned area to make sure more could feel the same support and care.

A simple meal can go a long way when it’s shared with purpose. 💛

Project PARA is currently being conducted as a food assistance initiative providing free lunch meals to jeepney drivers who continue to serve the public despite rising fuel costs and economic challenges. The activity aims to recognize their efforts and offer immediate support through community-driven action.

From early call time to the final pack-up, every moment reflected the effort behind bringing astronomy closer to the community. ✨

With each setup, interaction, and shared view through the telescope, the passion of the team shone through. Thank you to our volunteers for your commitment and energy—you are the reason these moments under the stars become possible.
