The organization formally acknowledges the resignation of Ms. Arlene Cortes as Treasurer of the Circle of Chabacano Dreams Inc., as well as the conclusion of her membership on May 5,2026.
The Board would like to clarify that the delay in establishing an official bank account was not due to neglect, but a consequence of the prioritization of establishing solid partnerships and ensuring terms of conditions are well-defined. This was a deliberate decision during the organizationβs formative stage to prioritize institutional development, partnerships, and long-term sustainability.
This period also coincided with significant personal losses, while organizational responsibilities continued to be fulfilled. During this stage, operational and organizational expenses were largely shouldered by the Enriquez family in support of the organizationβs initiatives and continuity.
While Ms. Cortesβ contributions to literary translations and designs are acknowledged, recurring internal and external interpersonal conflicts affected collaboration with other advocates and overall operational efficiency of the organization.
The organization further notes, with due seriousness, the unauthorized disclosure and public discussion of internal organizational matters, including information and communications considered confidential and protected under the terms of a duly executed Non-Disclosure Agreement which she signed and entered last June 14, 2025.
In accordance with governance protocols, Ms. Cortes is formally requested to complete the turnover of all organizational assets under her custody, including financial records, documents, files, and access to official platforms, to ensure accountability and continuity.
The organization and its members knows the truth of the work and collective effort that built and sustained this advocacy from the beginning. Any narrative by an individual to distort that reality for personal narrative or recognition does not diminish the facts, nor erase the contributions of those who faithfully carried the organization alongside its mission.
This situation will not define nor diminish the organization.
The Circle of Chabacano Dreams is rooted in service and guided by a mission far greater than any personal agenda. Its work, purpose, and direction remain steady.
We wish Ms. Cortes healing, success, and clarity in her path and advocacy ahead.
