Cebu is currently experiencing ACUTELY UNHEALTHY air quality, with an AQI of 209 recorded as of 4:00 AM, September 19, 2026 (Saturday). This level falls under the 201โ€“300 Acutely Unhealthy category and may pose health risks to the general public.

The haze is associated with transboundary smoke dispersion from forest fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia, brought by prevailing winds and affecting air conditions over Cebu.

โš ๏ธ What this means: An AQI of 209 indicates a significant level of air pollution. Everyone, especially children, older adults, pregnant individuals, and those with asthma or heart and lung conditions, should take extra precautions.

๐Ÿ˜ท Safety reminders:

โ€ข Limit unnecessary outdoor activities.
โ€ข Stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed when possible.
โ€ข Wear a properly fitted N95 or KN95 mask when going outdoors.
โ€ข Avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
โ€ข Monitor for coughing, throat irritation, dizziness, or difficulty breathing.
โ€ข Seek medical attention if severe breathing difficulties or chest pain occur.

Let us stay alert, informed, and prepared as haze conditions continue to be monitored.

Stay safe, Cebu. MASK UP and protect your health! ๐Ÿ˜ท๐ŸŸช
