𝑬𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑱𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝑯𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒔!🤝🕊️

To close out a five-jail facility tour across the province, JCI Candon Gold Leaf, together with the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 (𝗜𝗕𝗣) - 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗼𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿, hosted the grand culmination of 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗞𝘂𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻: 𝗔 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 on August 21, 2026 at 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗼𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗝𝗮𝗶𝗹.

This initiative was built on a simple premise: legal advocacy must go hand-in-hand with empathy and mental health support for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

Volunteers brought home-cooked meals, turning lunch into a space of equality, safety, and comfort. Thereafter, volunteers sat down for one-on-one kumustahan sessions, standing in as surrogate family members for those who haven't seen loved ones in a long time. The activity ended the day by giving away practical hygiene kits and new T-shirts to brighten their stay.

Visiting five facilities in Ilocos Sur showed us that listening without judgment is one of the strongest forms of justice. While this project tour has ended, our commitment to advocating for the dignity and mental well-being of every PDL continues. 💙

Members of JCI Candon Gold Leaf recently met with 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗼𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿, 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗼𝗻, for an inspiring courtesy visit.
