RCMC's HeartWorking Year has come to an end, but the Create Lasting Impact year is here!

The Rotary Club of Metropolitan Candelaria ended the 1st month of the Rotary Year with a simple and memorable Turnover Ceremony and Club Assembly. Charter President Leuvino Amador gave out a welcome and inspiring address to start the program. Heartworking President Alberto Macatangay proceeded in opening the ceremony with a message full of thanks to all the members who helped and volunteered to make his term successful and memorable.

The whole club congratulated the Immediate Past President and the Past Club Secretary for all the awards they received. These are the Leadership Award, Bronze Most Outstanding Club President and Bronze Most Outstanding Club Secretary for small club category. The Club itself was awarded by the District as Bronze Most Outstanding Club for small club category. The Club is grateful to District 3820 for the appreciation given to all of our Community Service Projects.

After the awarding, the Club members have committed to show their full support to the newly inducted Service Impact President Portia Hermosa and Club Secretary Ariel Yu.

The Club's plans, goals, and remaining projects to be implemented during the Lasting Impact Year were discussed and tentatively scheduled. Service Impact President Portia expressed her warm thanks to all members who have participated and gave their efforts in the planning and implementation of the Kick-off projects held last June.

As RCMC takes on its 8th year of service, we are manifesting for a very productive, successful, and impactful Rotary Year.

For the first time this Rotary Year, Service Impact President Portia adjourned the ceremony.

June 13, 2025 | Kick-off Projects / Legacy Projects for
Brgy. Masalukot V, Candelaria, Quezon

RCMC has been partnering with Brgy. Masalukot V since 2019 and has brought numerous projects to the community over the years. Their Daycare Centers have been adopted by the Club and we are thankful for the continued partnership with the whole Barangay, headed by Brgy. Captain Roseller Belen.

Just in time for the daycare pupil's first day of school, and as part of the Club's Legacy Project, RC of Metropolitan Candelaria provided 65 sets of school supplies and snacks to 2 Day Care Centers in Sitio Bega and Sitio Sipit of Brgy. Masalukot V.
The day started with a Story Telling of "Si Askal, ang Sigang Aso", teaching the kids the value of peacebuilding and conflict resolution at an early age.
Also part of the Legacy projects is teaching the daycare pupils proper handwashing and dental care. Parents are encouraged to join the discussion so that they may start the good hygiene practices at home. The club also lead a short discussion on the ways the community and parents can prevent dengue.

The kids and parents were all thankful and happy. The lasting impact created through these Legacy Projects will not be possible without RC Mteropolitan Camdelaria's club members and donors.

RCMC started the Impactful Rotary Year through providing various office supplies to Dolores Macasaet National High School, in cooperation with their Brigada Eskwela 2026 program.

The club is grateful for the warm welcome received from the school's Brigada Eskwela 2026 committee members - Ma'am Kimberly Ragodos and Ma'am Jecka Marie Vergara.

This is the club's second time to participate in the school's Brigada program.

The club is thankful to all the donors who helped us bring lasting impact to the school. This is just the beginning of the Rotary Club of Metropolitan Candelaria's Impactful Rotary year lead by our Service Impact President Portia Hermosa and Service Impact Secretary Ariel Yu.

On December 8, 2025, the Rotary Club of Metropolitan Candelaria continued its steadfast mission of empowering local communities through its meaningful visit to RCC–Masalukot 5 Mananahi, in Sitio B**a, Barangay Masalukot 5, the chosen . Guided by the theme “Sulong Komunidad: Aralin sa Sustainable na Negosyo at Pag-unlad ng Ekonomiya,” the activity highlighted the importance of knowledge, empowerment, and collective action in building stronger and more resilient communities.

In alignment with the theme, the club conducted a practical and insightful discussion to strengthen the community’s capacity for transparent and effective financial management—an important foundation for sustaining livelihood programs and supporting long-term economic growth. Although the RCC members shared their struggles, they also happily reported that their group is expanding and progressing through each member's hard work and sense of community.

To further boost their entrepreneurial initiatives, the Club donated additional financial assistance to help sustain and expand their ongoing endeavors, giving members renewed confidence and motivation to pursue their goals.

The visit was a celebration of partnership, opportunity, and shared vision. Through these efforts, the Rotary Club of Metropolitan Candelaria hopes to inspire the community to continue striving toward sustainable business practices and economic progress.

With hearts united in service above self, we move forward with the spirit of Sulong Komunidad—empowering each other, uplifting lives, and building a future where every family thrives.

The Rotary Club of Metropolitan Candelaria had a productive Immaculate Conception holiday with the activity - Buntis Congress 2025: Sandigan ng Malusog na Pagbubuntis at Wastong Pagpapasuso on December 8, 2025, at Barangay Masalukot 5, Candelaria, Quezon. The event's goal was to empower pregnant women in the chosen by providing them with essential health education, support, and resources. This is to ensure a healthier pregnancy and a safer motherhood journey.
Upon arrival, participating mothers underwent vital health assessments including blood pressure monitoring and weight checking. These screenings were conducted by the club alongside partner healthcare workers.

An interactive and insightful discussion followed, which focused on the importance of iron supplementation, the prevention of anemia during pregnancy, the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding, and practical techniques for proper latching. The session also highlighted maternal self-care and emotional well-being, allowing mothers to openly ask questions and share their own experiences. After the discussion, the Club distributed free iron supplements, mom’s milk, diapers, and other essential baby items, symbolizing the club’s dedication to improving maternal and child health.

The activity became a meaningful expression of Rotary’s commitment to service, fostering hope, unity, and empowerment among expectant mothers in Barangay Masalukot 5. Through this initiative, the Rotary Club of Metropolitan Candelaria reaffirmed its mission to uplift communities by nurturing healthier families and promoting safe pregnancies. The success of the Buntis Congress 2025 stands as a testament to the club’s unwavering compassion and its vision of building a stronger, healthier, and more supported generation.
