This recognition is a testament to your excellence, dedication, and the vital role you play in keeping our communities informed and empowered. As broadcasters, you are the bridge between the government and the people, and your commitment to the truth is essential in building a well-informed citizenry.

Your chapter’s heart for service is commendable. By choosing Leupapo Inc. as your beneficiary, you are translating your professional success into tangible hope for parents and patients affected by leukemia. This initiative proves that the power of the broadcast industry extends far beyond the airwaves—it is a force for social good.

In an age of rapid information, your integrity is the marginalized’s strongest shield. Use your platform not for sensationalism, but for truth—explaining the root causes of social issues, translating complex policies into the vernacular, and tenaciously following up on government promises. By reporting with absolute accuracy, you ensure that the voices of the unheard are never silenced by misinformation or dismissed by the public.

KBP STATEMENT “AGAINST UNFAIR CRITICISM” MADE BY GOVERNOR JULIETTE T. UY OF MISAMIS ORIENTAL TO THE MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA

Let it be known that KBP Cdo- Misamis Oriental Chapter is committed to its primordial task of serving the public interest by giving accurate, fair and newsworthy materials for the public to know. We firmly stand by our reporting and reject unfair accusations that seek to besmirch the integrity of our members, especially if such malicious imputation is coming from the governor or any public official who should be reminded that public office is a public trust, and that being in that position she should be aware that the prying eyes of the public is on them.

KBP is guided by tenets of professionalism and code of ethics, which includes : Respect for facts, Impartiality and fairness, and independence.

We recognize and defend the right and fair comment and criticism from the public, including the right of the governor to air her predicament or complaints. However , we differentiate between constructive criticism and unfounded attacks on our members obviously trying to discredit our duties to the public or stopping us from reporting that she may find uncomfortable. Such attacks is a clear indication that she wanted the members of the press to excuse her from public scrutiny.

Juliet Uy’s accusation against members of the media maybe legitimate .We don’t discount that possibility. However, for the sake of fairness, we challenged her to name names otherwise she is dragging the whole industry and that her true intention is just part of a sinister move to undermine the role of media especially now that most of our public officials are accused of corruption.

She even humiliated the media if we could survived by our monthly income and that she is willing to give her personal money to the media. This is an insult to the media as if our public officials spend their own money for their gasoline and other unimaginable perks they enjoy in the guise of public service

The kbp maintains that a robust, independent and critical media is essential for an informed public and holds public officials accountable. We will continue to defend the long -cherished principles of freedom of expression and information as enshrined in our constitution unless the governor will prove us wrong and that she is also
untarnished.

We encourage dissenting
remarks but KBP remain steadfast In our mission to divulge the truth, regardless of the criticism ahead of us. We will not buckle down.
