We are inviting everyone to run with us at 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞, the official fun run and one of the pocket events of 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐇𝐞𝐫: 𝐒𝐡𝐞’𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, to celebrate strength, empowerment, and the women who continue to inspire change! 💜

For 𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 the EmpowerHer: She’s The Moment activities at Limketkai and the Beneath the Sunshine Fun Run will be credited as 𝟮 𝗦𝗗𝗣 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺. Not attending either activity will result in no SDP being credited.

𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗧 🏁

With 200 metres to go, after more than 2 hours of racing at an average speed of around 20.5 km/h, Tadese Takele was still accelerating.

In the closing moments of the Tokyo Marathon, a glimpse of his watch data revealed just how intense the final push to the finish really was.

With the finish line in sight, his pace surged to 2:45 per kilometre, while his heart rate climbed to 197 bpm—a near-maximal effort after already covering more than 42 kilometres.

After hours of controlled endurance and tactical racing, the entire marathon came down to one explosive final sprint.
