Two newly elected officers of USGAA Hunglus, Rosanna Generato and Emil Cid, participated in the US-PH Alumni Network 2026 held on January 23โ25, 2026, in Clark, Pampanga. The event aimed to strengthen alumni collaboration, enhance leadership engagement, and align initiatives with priority development areas through learning sessions, field visits, and strategic planning activities.
Day One-January 23, 2026
The first day consisted of field visits that provided valuable insights into community development, private sector engagement, and historical appreciation.
The visit to the Public Market with the Fisherfolks Association Wives and Fish Right Program representatives highlighted the significant role of fisherfolksโ families particularly women, in supporting livelihood sustainability and economic resilience. The Fish Right Program demonstrated how partnerships enhance organizational capacity through safety awareness, preparedness, and diversified income opportunities.
The delegation also visited Texas Instruments in Clark Pampanga which showcased how corporate social responsibility is integrated into business operations. The companyโs initiatives emphasized education, skills development, and community engagement, illustrating how private sector partnerships can contribute to inclusive development.
A guided tour of the Clark Veterans Cemetery provided historical perspective and reinforced the importance of preserving heritage sites that honor the sacrifices of veterans. The visit encouraged reflection on history, gratitude, and the long-standing relationship between the Philippines and the United States.
Overall, the field visits demonstrated the interconnected roles of community organizations, private institutions, and historical preservation in promoting sustainable and socially responsible development.
Day Two-January 24, 2026
The second day focused on interactive sessions, teambuilding activities, and strategic discussions on alumni engagement and priority policy areas. Participants engaged in a teambuilding activity that promoted collaboration and networking among alumni groups.
Key sessions included discussion on US Embassy priorities, strategic planning through a World Cafรฉ Session, and understanding emerging policy areas such as cybersecurity, renewable energy, peacebuilding, artificial intelligence, supply chains, global health, and critical infrastructure. The sessions emphasized the importance of aligning alumni initiatives with broader development priorities while maximizing partnerships, resource mobilization, and community engagement.
Participants were also introduced to strategic planning tools, success factors in alumni-led projects and upcoming milestones such as the 80th Anniversary of US-Philippine Diplomatic Relations, US-ASEAN initiatives, and Freedom 250, encouraging alumni to contribute to collaborative programs that promote innovation, education, and regional cooperation.
The evening session focused on discussions regarding the establishment of a National Alumni Association as a coordinating framework. An interim board was formed as a temporary working group to study and develop possible organizational options, which will be presented to all chapters and program representatives for collective review and approval.
