Happy World Seagrass Day!

The DENR Sagay Marine Reserve of CENRO Cadiz City proudly joins the global celebration on the 1st day of March, embracing this year’s theme: “From Roots to Resilience: Seagrass in Action.”

This celebration highlights the vital role of seagrass meadows as nature’s silent guardians—protecting our coastlines, nurturing marine biodiversity, sustaining fisheries, and strengthening the resilience of coastal communities against climate and ocean hazards. Here in Sagay Marine Reserve, seagrass is more than an underwater habitat, it is a foundation of food security, livelihoods, and ecological balance.

By conserving these life-giving meadows, we protect not only marine ecosystems but also the communities that depend on them. From the seabed to the shoreline, resilience begins at the roots.

Together, let us care for what sustains our seas and secures our future. 💙

Sa Karagatang Masigla, Kaya Natin! 🌊
