The New Year celebrations are a time of joy and togetherness, but it’s also crucial to stay safe while enjoying the festivities. If you or someone else sustains a firecracker burn, here’s what to do 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹:
𝟭️.𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻: Place the affected area under cool running water for at least 20 minutes. This helps reduce pain and swelling.
𝟮️.𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀: Gently remove jewelry or tight clothing near the burn site, but if clothing is stuck to the skin, leave it as is.
𝟯️.𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻: Cover the area loosely with a sterile, non-stick dressing or clean cloth to prevent infection.
𝟰️. 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀: Do not apply creams, oils, or ice, as these may cause further damage.
5️⃣ Seek Medical Attention: For severe burns or burns on sensitive areas (face, hands, feet, ge****ls), visit a hospital immediately.

Did you know that Friday the 13th has long been considered an unlucky day in many cultures? But what’s the real story behind this superstition? 🤔✨

🔍 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵
Some say it stems from Norse mythology, while others link it to the arrest of the Knights Templar on October 13, 1307. Over time, the number 13 and the day Friday combined into an enduring legend of misfortune.

In truth, it’s just another day! Superstitions like these remind us of the power of beliefs and cultural stories—but they shouldn’t dictate our actions.

🌟 A Huge Success! Youth Volunteer Formation Course (YVFC)❤️⛑️ 2024 🌟

We are thrilled to share the success of the Youth Volunteer Formation Course (YVFC), hosted by the Bulan Community Red Cross Youth Council, held from November 29 to December 1, 2024, at the Sta. Remedios Gymnasium, Bulan, Sorsogon!

This 3-day event was a transformative experience for the first batch of young volunteers who gained invaluable knowledge and skills in humanitarian service, leadership, and community resilience. Participants were empowered to embody the Red Cross mission of saving lives and alleviating human suffering.
