Forty years after EDSA, we remember a defining moment in our nation’s history when ordinary Filipinos stood together and proved that real power does not reside in positions, but in the people.
EDSA was not born out of comfort. It was born out of courage. It was a collective stand against fear, against injustice, and against the abuse of authority. It was a reminder that when citizens unite with conviction, history can change.
As a youth-led organization, Kabataang Boluntir Initiative believes that the spirit of EDSA lives on when the youth choose service over silence, action over apathy, and truth over convenience. Democracy survives not by memory alone, but by participation. It thrives when the people are informed, engaged, and courageous.
Forty years on, the challenge remains the same: to protect our freedoms, to defend our institutions, and to ensure that leadership always serves with integrity and dignity.
