The last stop for NBDB's Book Nook site inspection and monitoring in Northern Luzon brought us to the Book Nook Masinloc, Zambales in Collat Integrated School. 📌 📚
There, we were warmly welcomed by Book Nook Masinloc's Area Coordinator Aileen Amorante. Then, we presented the NBDB's programs and services, including the Book Nook Project. It was also a productive meeting with Collat Integrated School's faculty members, including Assistant Principal Kristine Caasi and Junior High School Custodian Milo Mamaril.
Following the fruitful conversation on the state of readership in Masinloc, the team interacted with the Junior High School students of Collat Integrated School and conducted a survey.
On behalf of the entire NBDB family, we would like to extend our gratitude for their continued commitment and support to the Book Nook Project! 🩵

But wait, there's more!
During our Book Nook site visit in Northern Luzon, we stopped by the Book Nook SDO Quirino Library Hub in Gundaway, Cabarroguis, Quirino.
While we were there, the Book Nook SDO Quirino Library Hub prepared a short but meaningful program — including an open mic storytelling session! Our visit began with the Book Nook program overview by Quirino's Learning Resource Management Section, Mr. Felimendo M. Felipe, who is also the site's Area Coordinator.
Afterwards, we were treated with a storytelling session from award-winning guest storytellers Sunshine Bidhong and Rafael Gutierez. Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Madelyn Macalling also shared a message of support. Then, Mr. Ronald T. Bergado, Project Development Officer, introduced NBDB's Lionell Tobes who is also the liaison between NBDB and Book Nook SDO Quirino Library Hub.
The program ended with another book reading session from award-winning storyteller Teacher Jennifer Acosta. Overall, it was a productive visit that further strengthened our collaboration with the Book Nook SDO Quirino Library Hub!

"The Book Nook Project, one of the NBDB’s major projects under its Readership Development Division, was launched in 2021. It adheres to the belief that “aklat para sa lahat” (books for everyone) should be a basic human right. With over 100 Book Nook sites scattered across the country, the NBDB remains committed to fostering love of reading at a young age by making Filipino-published books more accessible and easily available to students and young readers."

"Ang pagbabasa ay hindi isang pribilehiyo lang para sa iilan—ito ay karapatan nating lahat. Nang makita ng NBDB na ang malaking problema kung bakit di tayo nagbabasa ay dahil sa kakulangan sa ‘access’ sa libro, ginawa niyang possible na abot-kamay natin ang mga aklat sa tulong ng Book Nook Project. Talagang sakto ang motto ng book nook na ‘Aklat para sa Lahat.’"
