What a win by Kassandra Day Tadeo against NM Mardonio Fuentes!!!

UPSET ALERT!!
🏆 17-year-old Kassandra Day Tadeo just proved that age is truly just a number. In a huge Round 7 upset at the Manny Pacquiao International Chess Challenger, the Bukidnon native took down National Master Mardonio Fuentes!

It was a grueling battle of nerves, but this Grade 11 prodigy held her ground to secure the win.

NM Keith Adriane Ilar has officially claimed the throne in the Challenger Section of the Manny Pacquiao International Chess Festival! February 23-27, 2026 in Family Country Hotel GenSan.

Competing alongside General Santos City’s vibrant 87th Kalilangan Festival, Ilar dominated the field of 120 participants from across the nation. Even with a tough last-round battle, his incredible 8.0/9 score secured him the championship early!

The Highlights:
The Champ: NM Keith Adriane Ilar (Bukidnon City)

The Prize: ₱100,000 💰

The Host: Legendary 8-Division World Champion, Manny Pacquiao, in coordination with the Pacman Chess Association.
