SBO President Mr. Homer Wayne Kurt P. Pepoa and SBO Vice President Mr. Dhean Haizek L. Mayona represented SISAI and the entire student body at the CEAP-CAR Regional Assembly on September 4-5, 2025, held at Prince Bernhard Gym, Saint Louis University, Baguio City. It was a joyful occasion as representatives from various private Catholic schools attended the event. The school representatives had the opportunity to immerse themselves in experiences during the two-day assembly, shaping their perspectives for the modern world.๐งโโ๏ธ
On the first day, Dr. Ruben Velarde discussed the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence under the theme, "Rethinking Learning in a Shortcut-driven World." He noted that many students are currently using AI, and he stated that it is not inherently wrong to use AI as long as it is used for intentional learning and not as a shortcut. Dr. Velarde also emphasized that the overuse of AI may lessen critical thinking, especially among students. Therefore, he shared productive ways to utilize AI, such as creating study aids, reminding everyone that while AI supports learning practically and ethically, it must not diminish critical thinking.๐ค๐ฆพ
On the second day, Dr. Andrew Macalma emphasized the capabilities and values that a student leader must possess, including good morale and servant-leadership. He highlighted that authority is not necessary to be a leader because true leadership is both a service and a commitment. Dr. Macalma also shared meaningful insights regarding the burdens of student leaders in their roles, reminding students to always push further until they become GOLDEN, referencing the song "Golden" by Huntrix: "๐๐โ๐ง๐ ๐๐ค๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ช๐ฅ, ๐ช๐ฅ, ๐ช๐ฅ, ๐๐ฉโ๐จ ๐ค๐ช๐ง ๐ข๐ค๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ. ๐๐ค๐ช ๐ ๐ฃ๐ค๐ฌ ๐ฉ๐ค๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ง ๐ฌ๐โ๐ง๐ ๐๐ก๐ค๐ฌ๐๐ฃ๐. ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ฃ๐ ๐๐, ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ก๐๐๐ฃ." ๐๐
Surely, not just SISAIโs SBO representatives were empowered and inspired, but also the other students present, as the CEAP-CAR helps create bonds between different Catholic schools. These two days of fruitful seminars were a pilgrimage for solidarity and progress, reminding students to stand for what is right and to think of the well-being not just of the school, but also to become pillars of change and hope within their communities.
Additionally, the event was a great opportunity to connect, as the SBO representatives stated,
