This is how we empower the youth, not just with words, but with real action. Because cleanliness and health are everyone’s responsibility. 🌱🌎💚💙

During this Dengue Awareness Month, the youth volunteers of Sto. Domingo, Bombon, Camarines Sur showed us all that lasting change begins when we step up for our community. Together, we cleaned up public spaces, properly disposed of plastic waste, and eliminated mosquito breeding grounds, taking charge of our environment and protecting our health.

If not us, who? If not now, when?

Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan. Today, we’re proving it with every step we take.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | National Service Training Program (NSTP) students of Universidad de Sta. Isabel de Naga, Inc. participated in a mangrove planting activity on February 2 at Bonot, Calabanga.

NSTP students from BSN 2A, along with their NSTP Instructor, Jerome G. Orejuela, MAEd, LPT, and a volunteer from Puon, planted a total of 400 mangrove saplings on February 2, at 8 AM.

Additionally, other sections were deployed to different partner communities, where they provided services, such as feeding programs and clean-up drives.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The Heritage participates in Naguenyou's clean-up drive along with Angat Buhay

Volunteers from Puon and The Heritage along with three students from Ateneo de Naga University restore the state of Naga City Riverside near Danlugan ni Ina with their rake and shovels last December 7, at 10 AM.

After almost an hour of cleaning, the volunteers rest due to the scorching heat and sudden drizzle. At 2 PM, volunteers proceeded to clean the remaining areas. The organizers then wrapped up the clean-up drive for the day at 4 PM.

🌍 PUON in Action: Bagsi Clean-Up Drive for a Cause 🌿

We are proud to have participated in the Bagsi Clean-Up Drive last December 1, 2024, connected to the ML Tournament for a Cause! 💚 Bagsi and the teams from the ML Tournament for a Cause worked together to clean up nearly 50 sacks of garbage from the area—every piece was carefully separated to ensure proper recycling and disposal. 🗑️✨

What shocked us most during the clean-up was the amount of waste buried in the ground. Each time we dug with our shovel, we didn’t find soil—we found trash. From candy wrappers, single-use plastics, chips packaging, unwanted clothing, cans, bottles, books, and even diapers. The ground was overflowing with all sorts of waste. It was a reminder of the need for responsible waste management and the dangers of single-use plastics.

This clean-up is just one step, but it shows how much work is still needed. Together, we can make a difference! 🌱 Let's continue working to protect our environment, one piece of trash at a time.
