In the coastal barangay of Mambatad in Miagao, Iloilo, a 51-year-old mother of nine is proving that preserving a tradition can be just as transformative as building a new industry.

Lorlie Noblezada is known in her community as the "Asindera ng Miagao (The Saltmaker of Miagao”. For the past eight years, she has dedicated herself to reviving Budbud Asin, a traditional salt-making practice that had nearly disappeared from her hometown.
