Typhoon Tino has displaced many families across Eastern Visayas โ leaving homes without electricity, water, food, and shelter. One of the most heavily affected areas is Silago, Southern Leyte, which is now in survival mode after the catastrophic landfall of the typhoon. The damage is extensive โ homes and infrastructures were destroyed across several barangays, roads remain impassable due to landslides and fallen trees, and clean water and food are now scarce.
Despite the devastation, the people of Silago are deeply grateful that no casualties were reported โ a result of the force evacuations carried out before the storm. ๐๐ผ To extend help to our kababayans, ๐๐๐๐๐ (Region VIII Association of DOST Scholars for Advancement and Response) is launching ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฃ๐๐๐ญ ๐๐๐๐๐๐, a donation drive for the victims of Typhoon Tino in Eastern Visayas โ in coordination with Miss Universe Philippines-Leyte. ๐ค
โจ A little goes a long way. Every peso, every pack, every prayer โ all contribute to easing the burden of those who are now rebuilding their lives from the ground up.
