The NVSU Gymnasium was filled with energy and excitement as delegates from participating State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) showcased their talents in the Dance Competition of the 2026 Cagayan Valley Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (CaVRASUC) Culture and Arts Festival. Through powerful choreography and expressive performances, the dancers highlighted both Filipino cultural heritage and contemporary creativity, earning cheers and applause from the audience.

The competition featured several categories, including Indigenous Dance, Philippine Folk Dance, Street Dance, and Contemporary Dance for both duo and group performances, where each university demonstrated remarkable skill, discipline, and teamwork.

The official results show that Isabela State University (ISU) bested all others dancers, garnering first place in Indigenous Dance, Cagayan State University (CSU) came in second place and Philippine Normal Universityโ€“North Luzon (PNU) in third place.

In Philippine Folk Dance, Cagayan State University (CSU) secured first place, with Philippine Normal Universityโ€“North Luzon (PNU) placing second and Isabela State University (ISU) finishing third. Cagayan State University (CSU) also dominated the Street Dance category, followed by Isabela State University (ISU) and Quirino State University (QSU). For Contemporary Dance (Duo), Isabela State University (ISU) claimed first place, while Cagayan State University (CSU) and Quirino State University (QSU) placed second and third, respectively. Meanwhile, Quirino State University (QSU) emerged as champion in Contemporary Dance (Group), followed by Cagayan State University (CSU) and Isabela State University (ISU).

The event highlighted the creativity, dedication, and cultural pride of the participating universities as the CaVRASUC 2026 celebration continues.

The excitement continues to rise on Day 2 of the Cagayan Valley Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (CAVRASUC) 2026 as six participating universities intensify their performances in both socio-cultural and sports competitions. Delegates remain determined and energetic despite the hot weather, demonstrating resilience, unity, and true sportsmanship throughout the events.

Various activities filled the day, including high-energy sports matches, and captivating cultural performances that highlighted creativity and teamwork. Athletes and performers alike gave their best, earning cheers and strong support from their respective delegations.

As of March 4, 2026, Cagayan State University (CSU) leads the unofficial overall standings in both socio-cultural competitions and sports events. Isabela State University (ISU) follows closely in second place in both categories. In the sports category, Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) currently ranks third, while in culture and the arts, Philippine Normal Universityโ€“North Luzon (PNU NL) secures the third spot.

With scores still being tallied and several major events yet to conclude, rankings may still shift in the coming days. The competition is far from over as each university continues to strive for excellence and regional pride.

The Cagayan Valley Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (CAVRASUC) 2026 kicked off today with a grand parade, marking the start of the Sports, Culture, and Arts Festival at Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU). The parade began at NVSU grounds and culminated at the Nueva Vizcaya Sports Complex, where the opening ceremony took place.

Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale, Jr. NVSU President, warmly welcomed all SUC presidents and all contingents to the 2026 CaVRASUC.

Over 2,500 delegates from five universities and one state college participated in the event. The participating universities and college are Batanes State College with 28 contingents, Cagayan State University, carrying 678, Isabela State University with 591, Philippine Normal University-North Luzon with 116, Quirino State University with 491, and Nueva Vizcaya State University with 649.

The regional meet is graced by no less than the CHED R2 Director, Dr. Julieta M. Paras, who reminded the participants to stay united, driven by purpose and values.

The raising of banners, led by university presidents, and the lighting of the torch officially opened the event, igniting a competitive atmosphere. The ceremony promises to deliver thrilling rivalries, passionate performances, and historic moments. The festival will feature various competitions in sports, culture, and arts, with participants vying for top awards.

CTE captures 9th eagle in โ€˜25 Intramurals

College of Teacher Education (CTE) emerged as the overall champion from the 2025 Intramurals with 2,388 points which secured its 9th consecutive eagle trophy, held at Nueva Vizcaya State University-Bayombong on November 23, 24, and 28.

โ€œThanks to everyoneโ€™s effort, dedication, and support, we were able to pull through and celebrate this win together. Iโ€™m really grateful to be part of a community that sticks together, helps each other, and shows the true spirit of CTE,โ€ said Hans Christian M. Burlaos, College of Teacher Education-Student Council (CTE-SC) Governor.

CTEโ€™s Blue Marlins cast their dominance across multiple events, widening the gap against the College of Information Technology (CITE) by 875 point difference.

Ranked not too far behind CITE were the College of Engineering with 1,506 points; the College of Business Education with 1,327 points; the College of Forestry and Environmental Science with 1,267 points; the College of Agriculture with 1,219 points; the College of Human Ecology with 1,172 points; the College of Arts and Sciences recorded 1,123 points; and, the College of Veterinary Medicine with 1,069 points.

Despite the long delay caused by Super Typhoon Uwan and persistent rainfall, athletes from all colleges pushed through with discipline and sportsmanship.

The winning athletes will advance to the dual meet, representing NVSU Bayombong against NVSU Bambang. ั‚ั”ะผ

CTE lorded over the Sirib iti Entablado 2025

The College of Teacher Education (CTE) of Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU), Bayombong Campus, participated in the just concluded Sirib iti Entablado 2025 event held at NVSU Bambang Campus, on November 26, 2025, and brought home numerous awards.

The CTE contingent showcased their talents in various artistic disciplines, garnering top spots in different categories. Here are their notable achievements:

In the Individual Events, CTE was champion in Dramatic Interpretation โ€“ Filipino, Charcoal Rendering, Kundiman, Classical Guitar, Storytelling, Declamation, Persuasive Oratory, Pagkukuwento, Deklamasyon, and Oratorio. In addition, they garnered 3rd place in Extemporaneous Speaking, Oral Interpretation of Poetry, and Banduria. They ranked 4th in Pagsulat ng Sanaysay and Dagliang Talumpati; and 6th, 7th, and 8th in Pop Solo, Photography, and On-the-Spot Painting, respectively.

In the Duo Events, CTE emerged as champion in Duo Acting (English), Duo Acting (Filipino), and Contemporary Duo, while they secured 2nd place in OPM Duet.

In the Group Events, CTE clinched Champion in Contemporary Dance and Street Dance, 1st place in Radio Drama, Short and Sweet Play, and Yell. They earned 2nd place in Short and Sweet Play (Musical), Folk Dance, and placed 6th in Poster Making.

The CTE contingent's outstanding performance is a testament to the college's commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals with exceptional skills in the arts. The winners will represent the university during the CAVRASUC 2026 to be hosted by NVSU. The college is proud of its students and faculty for their hard work and dedication.

Nueva Vizcaya State Universityโ€“Bayombong Campus celebrated its annual recognition ceremony at the University Gymnasium, honoring outstanding achievements across academic, cultural, leadership, and service-oriented fields. With the theme โ€œAnchoring on Our Strengths, Embodying the SDGs,โ€ the event showcased the diverse accomplishments of NVSU students and their growing contributions to community development.

Guest speaker Luningning M. Pacudan delivered an encouraging message, emphasizing that โ€œthe secret of getting ahead is getting started.โ€ Her words resonated to the honorees who balanced demanding coursework with hands-on field experiences, classroom simulations, and community extension activities.
As the ceremony concluded, the university community acknowledged the 697 honorees from the nine colleges. Among them are 260 CTE students who excelled both in academic and co-curricular activities. Congratulations to the awardees.

A vibrant display of team spirit and colors marked the opening of the NVSU Bayombong Campus Intramurals 2025, held at the NVSU grounds and Provincial Sports Complex. The event brought together nine colleges, to kick off a four day-long celebration of sports, camaraderie, and friendly competition.

The participating colleges were the College of Agriculture (Green Tamaraws), College of Arts and Sciences (Yellow Tigers), College of Business Education (Purple Pythons), College of Engineering (Red Lions), College of Forestry Environment and Resources Management (Green Vipers), College of Human Ecology (Pink Panthers), College of Teacher Education (Blue Marlins), College of Veterinary Medicine (Gray Wolves), and College of Information Technology Education (Orange Foxes).

Highlighting the opening ceremony was the cheerdance competition with the Red Lions bagging the top spot. The Pink Panthers came in second, while the Blue Marlins landed third. Meanwhile, Yellow Tigers and Orange Foxes secured fourth and fifth, respectively.

Sporting events kicked off immediately after the cheerdance competition, fueling the energetic atmosphere. The winners will represent the NVSU colors at the upcoming CAVRASUC 2026, which the university will host. With various contests lined up, Intramurals 2025 is set to be a thrilling experience, promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and camaraderie among students. ๐–๐’

The College of Teacher Education (CTE) Sportsfest 2025 has concluded, with Unit 1 Yellow Buzzwing claiming the championship title by a narrow two-point margin. The team, composed of Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED) and Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED) students, accumulated 129 points, edging out Unit 2 Red Vermix (BSED) with 127 points.

Unit 3 Green Glider (BCAED and BTLED) secured third place with 78 points, while Unit 4 Purple Arctic (BEED and BECEd) finished fourth with 28 points. Unit 2 Red Vermix was recognized as the Most Disciplined unit.

In the individual categories, Jhakyl Jetson M. Orias of Unit 2 Red Vermix was crowned Mr. CTE Sportsfest 2025, with Eldridge Lloyd Domingo (Unit 2) as first runner-up, Kevin A. Kindot (Unit 2) as second runner-up, Jerwyn Aquino (Unit 2) as third runner-up, and Jerick V. Salvador (Unit 3) as fourth runner-up.

Khylle Camille Alcantara of Unit 4 Purple Arctic was crowned Ms. CTE Sportsfest 2025, with Eunice Janelle De Guzman (Unit 2) as first runner-up, Zyra I. Hangdaan (Unit 2) as second runner-up, Sophia Grace Carbonel (Unit 2) as third runner-up, and Jolinz Ananayo (Unit 1) as fourth runner-up.

CTE Dean William Magday Jr. encouraged students to uphold their excellence, saying, "Ang challenge ko ay: let us sustain 'yung overall champion natin. Do our best so this coming month ay mapaghandaan natin ang ating intramural meet."

The top-performing athletes from each event will represent the College of Teacher Education (CTE) in the NVSU Bayombong Campus Intramurals next month, where they will compete against other colleges and departments. Coaches will select and train the best players to join the intramural meet, and the CTE community is expected to show strong support for their representatives.

Diverse cultures, united spirits! NVSU's Buwan ng Wika and ASEAN Celebration recently concluded with a bang! Faculty members and students came together to showcase the rich colors of Filipino and Southeast Asian cultures through various activities, including traditional dances, music performances, costume parades, culture-centered competitions and more!
